Cleveland Guardians Offseason Discussion 2021-22

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Everybody seemingly wants to trade Plesac.

It would have to bring a haul of young MLB and MLB ready players.

But not this year, because we need every SP we have right now just to get thru the season.

And its quite possible that a lot fewer fans will want to trade him after watching him pitch this year.
Agree with this CATS. It would have to be a no brainer and fill an obvious need extremely well. Plesac looks really good right now and I'm interested in seeing how he rebounds from last year tbh.

To be clear, I wouldn't move him to 1st but as a C he should in theory be decent at picking the ball out of the dirt and a decent range less fielder.

He'll make a fine DH someday
Kirk has such a small sample size..

He came up to the Jays parent club in April and struggled a little & was sent back to the minors..... Then he hit a solid 285 in July/August (70 AB's, again SSS).. before falling on his face in September going 1 for 22 to finish the last two weeks of the month. He ended up at .200 for September.. IOW.. the hole in his bat was found.. His catching didn't change much the entire time.. lousy or terrible would best describe his defensive ability..

Of course Jays fans want to "include" the Guardians catcher of the future in the form of Kirk.. They see what everyone else does.. now..

the most obvious need being catching and corner OF'er..

We've went over this before, his TTO stats were actually best in his final month and his AVG went down due to BABIP. That is not what "finding the hole in his bat" looks like.

OK, so we've determined Kirk can eat and hit while struggling with anything that requires movement on the defensive side. Why are we even talking about Kirk?

Because we can’t badmouth the Dolans for being cheap right now (which I never have)

Cause you did...

...the only restaurants Kirk has a standing reservation at are All You Can Eat Buffets..

Naw, he would know the best places to eat in town... I mean you cannot get to his demeanor without knowing where the best places in town to get food are...
