This is actually very good. Glad to see Toronto get in on the action if they haven't already. Didn't hear their name any much.
 
Deadline has come and gone. Not disappointed in who we didn't get. However, I am disappointed in who we didn't trade. We're stuck with the same middling rotation with no room for prospect advancement. We're stuck with trying to fit 3 youngsters in RF and DH. We're stuck watching Owen Miller play 1B. We're stuck watching Ernie fucking Clement play way too much. I have to watch Hedges and Maile suck ass. I have to watch Straw try to slap the baseball. I have to watch Gimenez play 2B because Amed is still here.

Is Chernoff that difficult to deal with? Damn!
 
Well the Twins get tougher, but is it enough?

Probably - dammit.
 
I dont know how much better the Twins will be, but they will be better.

They have a FO that wants to win the division.

That is kinda the word around the league. We think our shit (prospects/mlb players) smells better than everyone else's. We are difficult to deal with, might partially explain how shit went with Cincy this year trade-wise.
 
We have what, about a third of the season left? Adding someone outside of patching up glaring holes isn't likely to change the division winner. Upgrade by 5 WAR, hope the 2 games makes a difference? I'm happy to see Minnesota trade away some of their prospects, potentially they will have sold out the future during our strongest contention window to not even change the outcome.

The smartest moves by this team was always coming from within.

Naylor > Maile is such a huge upgrade that it's not even funny.

Same with Freeman/Arias > Clement

But maybe you wanted an open market rental 1B power bat and have Owen replace Clement's role.

I wanted a good 7th-8th inning arm.

What's the highest rated prospect they gave up.....7? If that's true then they hardly sold out the future.

They must be hoping for an extension, otherwise I don't get it at all. Especially with Yan Gomes on board for 2023.
