I have to give it to Peele, he's really changing up horror movies with these veiled social commentaries included. I read this one as a means of everybody's needs to find importance in life, even at great risk of nature. That can be through striving for celebrity or going for documentation. That quest leads to personal ruin (perfectly encapsulated by the biker guy). It started off with the attempt to control nature with Gordy the chimp, and then the means of controlling a "predator" of the UFO and the "impossible shot". Ultimately, it wasn't about that, but instead about two siblings finding their true selves.
I also really liked how the spaceship was the alien. I actually found that pretty terrifying of being swept up by a flying mouth. I was ready for a Xenomorph or grey guy, but this was unique. A mix between a mouth, a weird looking kite, and a blancmange jellyfish thing is a choice.
Put me in the camp that believes OJ survived. He was riding the horse "Lucky" after all. I'll have to dig further into the names of things, but I did pick up on how the alien was named "Jean Jacket", aka the horse Emerald originally claimed as "hers" and in the end she was the one to get the definitive photo.
All around, what a brilliant movie. Peele doesn't miss and even his weaker ones are miles ahead of the usual releases.
