The whole time watching this YouTube video about ten NBA players who fumbled the bag, I was thinking about Sexton and his current situation (not to mention the offer he already reportedly got last offseason). Then, at the end of the video, Sexton is the only player mentioned in "who could be next?" I wish him the best.

Who was the last player to successfully bet on themselves? I guess Brunson? Feel like it usually is not so succesful.

And he's only 24. If he is underpaid for 3 years, and he is as good as they at least claim to think he is, no big deal. His next contract will be huge. Signing 3/40 is still betting on oneself, it's just not as high stakes as taking the QO.

Yep. Take the 40 mil. Secure your life financially. Too many things can happen in life

From Jason Lloyd's mail bag--

I’ll list players, and you tell me if they are on a Cleveland team next year (2023).
Sexton: No. LeVert: No. Okoro: Yes. Love: No. Allen: Yes.

Weird surprises happen, but I'd be surprised if all three are gone.

Makes sense to not keep both Sexton and Levert, but little sense to get rid of both.

Unless Love seriously regresses and plays himself out of the lineup -- where else does he go? We have his Bird rights and he is going to be worth something in the 5-10M/yr range... but who else signs him for that? Of the teams that would, which is going to be more competitive than Cleveland? I don't see the match anywhere.

If Love play next year, it won’t be because of the money, unless someone get stupid and offer him crazy money, with that said I could easily see him playing on the west coast somewhere…….

I could see that -- except for the fact that those teams are either: (1) not competitive or (2) won't have anything more than min.

Maybe he takes min to play with the Clippers/Lakers/Trailblazers/Warriors? But I think that requires a certain amount of not liking it here, while he seemed to enjoy last year quite a bit.

I'd be surprised if Love isn't back on the west coast next year. You talk like we are competing for a championship while the reality is we are predicted to be in the battle for the 8th seed, more than half the league is more competitive than that. Before last year we couldn't wait to be rid of him and someone out there will offer him a 2-3 year deal, I'd be stunned if we'd do that again. It wouldn't be at all surprising to see him return to his UCLA roots and join up with LBJ again.

This makes sense to me. I know a lot of people have talked about the team choosing between LeVert and Sexton, but I don’t think either is here long-term.

It seems clear to me that we need some high-volume 3 point specialists on the wing, and without some significant developments, neither Sexton nor LeVert provide that. Hopefully, it’ll end up being Agbaji, but I wouldn’t count on that this year.

I bet either James Jones or Lebron will recruit Love to play on a vet min type contract next summer. Actually PHX would be a great landing spot for him. Close to the WC, contending team, etc.
