There are less than two weeks before whatever the Dodgers are going to do with Bauer is required. The initial comments (all media sourced) were that Bauer is going to be released by the Dodgers. In short, the dodgers public relations people have staked out the moral high ground to their fans during the very important season ticket sales season.. (did everyone get their bundles?.. starting at $ 0.40!!).. Either way, the Dodgers are on the hook for about 70 % of the last year of the third year contract value due and owing to Bauer. That will be about $ 22 MM still due from his three year deal.

Will the Dodgers throw away $ 22 MM and spit on morality to the fans?.. when the Dodgers are absolutely in need of a starting pitcher that can cover until Walker Buehler is ready to go near the end of May?..

BTW.. with the Bauer contract reinstated.. the Dodgers got over the CBT and incurr penalties that include whatever the CBT value is for 2024.. you know.. when the Angels have to either put up or shut up about Ohtani.. Dontcha think the Dodgers would love to stick it to the Angels and buy Ohtani?. Well, they still can.. it's just gonna cost a LOT more with the penalties..

It could be seen that the Giants could be readying themselves to swoop in and help themselves by taking the Bauer money off the Dodgers' CBT number.. We'll get to see in about 13 days.. give or take.. As a guess, I could see the Dodgers releasing Bauer giving Bauer 100 % freedom to JAM this morality crap from MLB down the commissioners pie hole using their own money, $ 22 MM, to fund a legal batter to end the hypocrisy.. but, that's just me..

Yeah.. some "less than genuine" stuff going on here..

In an effort to "show the world that MLB takes domestic abuse/domestic conduct seriously" we are fed this? If the @BauerOutage video is true... Bauer is the victim..

..and, puh-leeeeeze spare the sanctimonious comments about supporting domestic abuse.. it's abhorrent.. but no more abhorrent than lying about it happening when it didn't..

Should Bauer be considered for a rotation spot on this club?.. IDK.. but, if this video is genuine.. the answer becomes yes.. If it's not proven to be genuine.. then no..
No one disputes the validity of the video. That includes the Pasadena Police, the legal consul for for Lindsey Hill or Lindsey Hill herself.

So if that is the basis you are using Gson, it is authentic, the meta data says so and it is not under dispute. It was shot by Lindsey Hill with her own phone and os where it was found by the Pasadena Police.

Then my question is how did she get all that bruising? Morning after session? If Bauer didn’t do it, and self-inflicted, then his extortion type claims are valid and should be investigated by police/mlb to figure out he said/she said. And, he would have strong case against the mlb and this arbitration panel.

For me what happens between 2 consenting adults is up to them. And men, due to their strength/force should have more responsibility to ensure consent of both parties. But, someone mentioned a week ago, what if this was your daughter. I want to instill a strength and confidence in my daughter to say no and set clear guidelines. The woman after getting 2 black eyes in first session, should not be saying lol in text afterwards and not saying I didn’t ask to be hit after 2nd session as it was up to her to clarify how she wanted it rougher. I don’t condone domestic violence and feel sorry for those in these situations as there are a lot of issues that go on (shame to keep things hidden from friends/family). But, we cannot ONLY portray women as victims in press but rather also prove to them that they can/need to say “no more” and step away.

I cannot understand why the message therapist who go to private homes do not walk in and say “I do messages only with underwear on. Put on this towel for the session as I set up.” If they do anything else, just say, “I am only one who can touch because this is not what I do. I will step out till you are ready to comply with my rules and the time for you to compose yourself comes out of this session. And, I will leave if it continues and expect to be paid for my time to provide a simple message as you requested.”

That's the rub, 2 consenting adults (and ya, I think she consented).

I don't want the world policing bedrooms (again?), but that stuff is obviously unhealthy.
Kinda forces you into that Catch-22 of your beliefs; consenting adults vs serious physical abuse.

I'm an old man, I guess. I came from a world where there's shit you just don't do because it's wrong.

Bauer admitted that he knocked her unconscious.

Him: “You seemed fine, because, like when you came to…you were like, you know, normal”

Her: “the punching thing, I didn’t want that”

Him: “Yeah, i mean, I’m sorry that…I didn’t know, like, what to say”

There is no dispute that this dude beat a woman until she was unconscious. We’re seemingly just using a video posted a week later (sarcastic or otherwise) attempting to marginalize what he’s admitted to.

Didn't realize it was week later. That is why I asked where bruising was or if it came later. But, in reality, that makes her almost as culpable as him ... Why go back if he crossed a major line? Why go back asking for rougher sex after you got 2 black eyes after 1st time? Where those not punches or serious slaps? Again, my point was to clarify who is responsible for drawing a line in a relationship, both parties! Not saying Bauer is a good guy or isn't culpable of something and shouldnt be punished. But, as a society, do we want to say we are the morality police and where is the line? What is okay? Whips, chains, candy canes? Is slapping okay if it's on butt but nowhere else? Are toys that can cause pain not allowed? I am an old guy and not into any of it. But, I hope you get my point. 2 year suspension is based on her saying he crossed a serious the line. I am just saying, they both have responsibility on where that line is. And, if he crossed a serious line that she didn't want crossed, why even go back? I hope my daughter isn't going back in bed after just 1 week without major couple's counseling for each party to figure why things got out of hand.

And, I am not a lawyer, but it's one thing if he continued when she was unconscious and knew it. As stated before, that is against CA law. But, legally, it's gray area if she wanted rougher sex (and she asked for it to be thay way) and due to lights off, she drifted into unconscious state.

Again, not my cup of tea and wouldn't want my daughter in that type of relationship. But, if I am going boat tubing and took serious Wipeout and then asked my buddy to do it again but faster and I got paralyzed for him going faster, who is to blame? Somewhere in the middle as each of us had our role in not discussing risks and what faster meant?

How does the waiver system work with the Dodgers releasing Bauer? They would be on the hook for the estimated $22m unless a team claims Bauer off waivers, which the $22m would then go to the second team. If Bauer clears waivers and then signs a contract with another team, the second contract's numbers are subtracted from the Dodgers' amount?

It would be worth it for a team comfortably under the luxury tax who was already looking for SP help to have an agreement with the Dodgers to claim/trade Bauer and receive a solid prospect to save the Dodgers the $22m (plus a potential 50% if they reach the luxury tax for the 3rd consecutive year). Like what the Browns did in the Osweiler trade with the Texans where they received a 2nd round pick in exchange for the salary cap relief.

No he isn’t.

But an impressive PR campaign is all one needs to present this type of insane narrative that inevitably, some will believe.
Without context.. your response is BS..

Piss off.

You knock a woman unconscious and portray yourself as the victim, it makes you a piece of shit.

Watching these men’s rights apologists go to bat for him, as though there was no possible way he could have avoided this, is a joke.

You had a chance to provide the entire comment.. instead you cherry picked/edited a comment that

DID
NOT

REPRESENT
WHAT

SAID..

Only an asshole with an agenda would do that..

So piss off yourself...

Only an asshole would defend a man who knocks a woman unconscious and acts like it was a situation the woman put him in.

Seeing how desperate you are to act like that’s cherry-picked lets me know how unserious the argument is.

There’s a video, cool. He still pummeled the woman unconscious and lied about his actions repeatedly. Yet invariably there will always be a team of social media culture warriors there to have his back.

After all, he can pitch.

So..shit for brains..

The comment I made DID NOT DEFEND BAUER

SO YOU'RE WRONG and an ASSHOLE.

There is no desperation..

Your argument is garbage...

I'll await your apology for misrepresenting what I stated...

You said if the video is true, Bauer is innocent.

Nobody is claiming that video is false. It's assumed to be true.

Therefore, it's fair to judge the conditional clause "Bauer is innocent."

I agree with the other posters who are pushing back against your take. That video alone does not clear Trevor of any wrongdoing.

We know you fight for rights and I am glad to see it, but Bauer isn't 100% at fault for this since she invited him back to do it again. She asked for rough, and he pushed it a bit a far but instead of stating what he did and staying away from him, she invited him to do it again, which in return said what he did was okay. Yes, he took it to far and yes, he needs to face something some type of punishment for going that far, but these two weren't dating, they were hooking up. She wasn't in a bad situation, she chose to have him back to do it again. She allowed him to do it more than once, so she does take some blame as well. This actions caused Bauer not to be indicted on any charges

And part of the issue is, Bauer got a worse suspension than someone who was charged for actually beating and abusing his wife. Suspensions need to be fair and this wasn't a fair suspension at the end of the day since this was a hookup that went to far, not someone beating a significant other. Bauer got 324 games because Manfred wanted him out of the league because Bauer calls him for actions that's in Bauer's mind is screwing up the game.
