2023 NBA Draft

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'd still draft him.
What matters at the end of the day is that there’s no way Koby will take him unless he gets to complete shot in the dark territory, which he’s way too talented to. I want nothing to do with him.
I can't imagine any well run organization taking him.

If you are months away from 10's of millions of dollars and you can't sort out what you should and shouldn't be doing in a situation like this, then I don't think I want to have to deal with you once you already have the money guaranteed.

I'm not saying he doesn't deserve a second chance, just that I would not be laying my job (as a GM) on the line, to give it to him. Someone will......and Miller better hope it is an organization with some track record of helping to develop guys off the court.
agreed completely. Can’t say enough about how awesome it is to have a team full of no-nonsense, hardworking guys that are dedicated to improving. The culture created is really showing on court with the massive leaps taken by Garland, Okoro, Mobley, etc.

His lawyer released some info saying some of the info is not accurate and that he worked with authorizes and no charges are coming.
If this is true he will still get drafted high. Alabama has decided not to take any action. Given this seems like it’s not criminal on his end and more of moral and ethical issue I doubt he makes it past the lottery. Unless new info comes out and there are charges he is going to get drafted in the lottery.

This is all assuming what his lawyer and Alabama are saying is true and no new info comes out.

Damn Miller went off for 41 points…

The situation really sucks because someone was killed but if ( big if) he is telling the truth and the police continue to see him as innocent I can’t see him not going in the top 6 ot 7, unless this is not an isolated incident.

Sadly it seems like he did not chose his friends wisely! Although two the guys were players on the team who probably interacted alot with all the players.

18 and 19 year olds make some horrible decisions but that does not necessarily make them a criminal. Still need to know the whole truth though

Well, Ray Lewis bounced right back, and he's done well for himself.

We never really found out what exactly Lewis did or did not do. But from what I recall he did way more than Miller. Please correct me if I am wrong.

We’ll see how it all shakes out but I would take anything a lawyer is saying right now with a large grain of salt.

During testimony, investigators referenced a large portion of it being caught on surveillance video, so I’m sure at some point there will be visuals to show what Miller was doing.

Enough credible outlets reported on the details for me to be very skeptical of anything someone being paid to represent him is saying. The truth could lie somewhere in the middle…..guess we’ll see.

If there is evidence he committed a crime he will be charged , but so far that does not seem to be the case ( too early to say he is all clear for sure ) . What’s crazy is three players on the team where there, including the one being charged with murder who the gun belonged to.

I'm being a bit facetious there; I can't even stand to look at the man. But what I actually know is nothing.

Lewis plead down to a lesser charge than murder. If you read up he was way way more involved than Miller in what happened .

I think you are making too many assumptions based off of a letter by a lawyer, who’s duty is not to speak the truth here but to keep his client out of legal trouble.

The Alabama AD said they found out Miller was actively texting Davis when authorities testified on Tuesday. As in Miller “forgot” to disclose that to them. So there’s already also some breadcrumbs of Miller not being forthcoming either here, even after the fact.

Wether he is charged or not is less of the point here. There’s just too much really poor decision making for it not to be a huge red flag for me. I’m sure someone will take the chance but I would need a lot clearer info, from someone I really trusted, to bet a top pick on him.

I doubt he does not share blame in the situation but if he ends up not getting charged like it seems right now a month into the investigation, I think he will get taken very early if this is really an isolated incident . Again this is not over, but there will be plenty of teams willing to draft him early if things currently don’t change . Teams will do a full background check to see if this was just a really bad night or more indicative of a poor pattern of behavior .

He supposedly turned in his phone, plus they can easily access all the text records . If there is a reason to press charges it will happen . That obviously changes everything.

Wether it is right or wrong ( ethical issue) most teams won’t pass on a player who could turn into a top 20 nba player if he never gets charged and they are convinced he won’t be a problem in the community or locker room .

Plus again there is still some gray area as to what he did and did not do . Sadly very sadly guns are everywhere now. Someone leaving a gun in your car and asking for it back is not a good situation . At the sane time if I was him I would want to return that gun as soon as possible and get it the hell out of my car . What he knew and did not know about what was happening that night is def still unclear. As of right now it appears he did not actually touch the gun or particulate in any attempt to block cars or cover up a crime .

He def chose his friends poorly but sadly two of the 3 guys there besides the shooter were also Bama basketball players. It’s a horrible incident but it’s way too premature to say he won’t be drafted high .

We sadly have way too many guns on the streets and imo are only just beginning to feel the horrible consequences of that type of society.
