There's always a choice. If there wasn't then there would be no need for a manager.Did he have any choice? No not really lol

It should be Gimenez.
Hitting one of the best players in baseball 6th or 7th doesn’t make a ton of sense to me. Probably missing out on 50 to 100 at bats from him because of that. I’d rather he get 50 to 100 extra at bats than Rosario too.
But still, this is like the rich crying poor when we’re talking about a .280 to .290 batting average hitter not being good enough to bat 2nd.
Gimenez though has the same issue as Rosario... They don't have good OBP%... You usually want a good OBP% in the 2 hole so he doesn't actually do much better there in my mind at least. On paper, a guy like Brennan or Straw could be better in the end...
What? Gimenez's OBP was just dandy (.371) and given his hit/speed/power combo, that is perfect to bat behind Kwan everyday if it were up to me. Those two have the potential to wreck so much havoc before JRam even gets a chance to swing. IMO - Kwan, Gimenez, JRam would be one of the leagues top 1,2,3.Gimenez though has the same issue as Rosario... They don't have good OBP%... Gimenez is coming off a .370 on base season. How is that not good?
He seems like an ideal guy there. High batting average and good on base percentage.

Amed would be so much better batting in the lower half after Josh Naylor and Oscar Gonzalez. His plus tool is hitting and that works great for driving in runs, which he seems pretty good at already. Give him a chance to try to tap into some power, I don't think any of would be overly surprised if Amed hits 15+ homeruns this year. Amed could be a very good stabilizing force batting in the mix with Ogonz, Naylor and Bell, while piling up some tasty stats in the process.
why would I just ignore his HBP though? lol. ok. He's still better.. Still better than Amed's 3.7% walk rate... And still a better option at the top of the order.Honestly Gimenez OBP% is based off of 25 HBP SINCE he doesn't walk very much at all aka 6.1%...
His .371 is actually an outlier with his BB rate... Look at the whole set of numbers since without those HBP he really doesn't get on base all that well...

Handles the bat well.. can lay down a bunt.. has some wheels to beat out a slow roller past the pitcher.. etc.. Ideal, in many ways..Gimenez is coming off a .370 on base season. How is that not good?

He's just making shit up to fit his narrative. In no way shape or form is Amed more ideal in the 2 hole than Gimenez. There's just no evidence to support such a claim that I can think of or that I've seen. I can't wait for any/all of Rocchio, Arias and Freeman to show that they belong and to be done with all this Amed Rosario talk.Gimenez is coming off a .370 on base season. How is that not good?

Yes really, his OBP and BA say otherwise so.........Not really... Gimenez doesn't really get one base much outside of hitting, the same as Rosario...
