2023-24 Season | Game #3 | Pacers @ Cavs | Oct. 28, 2023

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Not saying losing is fun, but I like what I saw. Missing 3 of your best players, every team in the NBA is not going to be great. We were in stride with them. Fell apart at the end, but I just like what I saw overall. Not upset.
Second quarter was a train wreck. Cabs adjusted second half and played with great effort. I am not mad at all. Mobley also is not a bum like everyone was claiming after game 2 of his third NBA Season lol... Strus if he can stay healthy is a great addition... The verdict is still open with Niang...

And for the people who think
He's a career 23% shooter from 3.

Please, my guy.

That shot looked good. Him even attempting them can start to open up the game for the entire squad. If he doesn't take shots, he's never going to add it to his game. But thanks for the condescension, my guy.

He's 100% from 3 this season :chuckle:

We are three games in a long season. lol.

Does anyone really expect a team to win with 3 of your top players out?

I thought we were going to lose by 25 tonight. The score is misleading, it was a close game.
Some were claiming last night the Cabs would get torched tonight before we found out Don was even out...

So Evan can hit 3s... but he doesn't take them and it shrinks the floor completely. Cool.
Lol he hit 1. It's not like he was taking step backs and went 6 of 7 from three tonight lol.

I mean he can hit them 23% of the time and he's not in position to get a rebound the 77% of the time he misses.

He's not really going for offensive rebounds anyway.

Game was lost in 2nd quarter. Lost any chance of weathering Indy getting hot late in a tight game coming off a back to back.

We win with Garland and/or Mitchell. Annoying that defending the perimeter and rebounding are issues no matter who is on the floor, though.

Anyway, thank God for Max Strus. Mobley was inspiring in second half. Not the worst loss!

Players shouldn't take shots they aren't good at making.

That's what practice is for.

I appreciated some of the effort tonight but honestly, this team is neither constructed nor coached to play top-flight NBA basketball in 2023. The continual unwillingness and inability to defend the three-point shot indicates a strategy that has not worked in pro ball for at least fifteen years and maybe not even then.

I actually think some of the non-fat players possess the ability to contest threes. They are just not trained to do so, either as individuals or as a team. It is a steady embarassment that is not dependent on injuries. The team competed well enough tonight and scored more on offense than we probably all expected, but on the other end of the floor, they gave away open threes once again at nearly a 40% clip. As expected and frustrating again.

Weird night to complain about Evan when he showed a ton of ability around the rim with post moves. He is a classic PF, range will come if he isnt a modern 3 point shooter, elite defense, rebounding has been better and offense is there if they give him the ball, i know we all want him to be Wemby, which he wont, but he can be a very, very good player.

Alright, you fuckers need to calm the fuck down. I'm not complaining about Evan. But regardless he needs to start taking 3s. That was his first shot of the season, and it looked good.

The silver lining is the bench guys played pretty well for the most part and having then get meaningful minutes could end up being important as the season wears on.

Not a big sample size, but he improved from the corner a lot last year. 42% I believe, again, didn't take a lot of them I realize. He's never going to be a top of the guy three point shooter. That's for sure. But corner 3, I can see him being at least decent.
