2009 NBA Draft Preview

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Terrence Williams is a horrific shooter. Just painfully bad. That alone takes him out of consideration for me.

The Cavaliers tried to pair an athletic, multidimensional SG that couldnt shoot with James.....

didnt work out so well.

The more I see Jerome Jordan the more I see a T.A.T.A. For a 22 year old junior he should be much further along in his development. I question his motor and I think he would be a bigger project than Hickson.

I agree 100% but Williams can play PG and not complain also he can finish around the rim. He also is a terrific passer. I truely hate the fact TWILL cant shoot but for a late 1st round pick he is worth the risk.

Because of Williams bad shooting ive looked at Dionte Christmas as a really nice talent to consider. He is a great shooter, solid defender, can handle the ball and is 6'6" which gives us size.

Nooooo, Jerome is a much better defender than J.J., also, his bball IQ is pretty good.
Pair that with size and some nice developing post moves, and he's a perfect choice come late first round. You can't get much better than that.

Jerome Jordan, C 34 2-6 0-0 0-0 2 7 0 1 5 1 4 4

He didnt score a lot but did have 7 rebounds and blocked 5 shots but he still should be able to score more than 4 points.

Remember guys, we own Chicago's 2009 2nd round pick. That pick could be a very nice pick, real possibility it's only 10-12 picks after our first round selection. Both of those guards could potentially still be there at that point.

i think that we should try and pick up a 2/3 if andy stays. If andy leaves and we cant pick up someone else (leon powe type person) for the mle then we need touse the pick to get a big it could mean drafting a solid big or trading the pic for a vet. Also remember we might trying and pic up a center through a trade and we would need to use the pic in a trade.

If we could get Tyler Hansborough in the second round lets jump all over it. We could take Jordan with our first, then Tyler with our second. Or with our second an athletic SG with a good shot.

Jordan is going to get thrown around like a rag doll. He doesnt handle double teams well and struggles to get deep post position at times even in that inferior conference. He will get pushed off the block in the NBA and beat up inside without putting on 25-30lbs.

I still question his motor. He looks alot like Patrick O'Bryant.

Terrence Williams wont be a PG in the NBA. You cant play him and James together so there is no point to him.

Any wing or backcourt player drafted has to be able to shoot the basketball. Along with being about talent it also has to be about how a player fits with the Cavs style and with the Cavs core players. Perimeter players who lack at least a somewhat consistent shot just wouldn't work here.

J. Jordan might be worth taking a chance on but I can't see him still being available late 1st round. In a mediocre draft a decent C prospect will most likely be off the board.

When factoring in where the Cavs will be drafting and how this year's draft is shaping up, I'd still lean towards going with the best player available with the game that fits here.

He's still young enough to put on some weight, even though he isn't that light. Plus, he's got great wingspan.

Also, do you honestly think he'd get double teamed all that much next to LeBron, Mo, etc...don't think so.

If he can play defense, block shots, and score in the paint, and he can, I say take him.

He's at least the type of a player we seem to lack this season, and it shows in every game lately.

Sure, he is no Dwight Howard, but I do find him a better fit than J.J., not to mention bball IQ.

You cant be serious.

John Bryant is a late bloomer. Check out his production in the past three months. I can't stick my neck out too far until he plays other 7 footers on a regular basis (Portsmouth Invitational) but we should be scouting him for the second round.

With the 13th pick of the second round of the 2009 NBA draft, the Cleveland Cavaliers select Luke Harangody.

I'm officially on the Aaron Jackson bandwagon. The Dukes are playing on ESPN2 currently if anyone wants to check him out. I watched him play a few times over the years but hadn't seen them play at all this year until today... it looks like he's really stepped his game up. I think he'll be a solid pro.
