2018 Cleveland Browns Off Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
They clearly decided that any of the top 3 on their board were worth those assets. And for all we know, there may have been a bidding war already, and the Jets couldn't afford to wait.

Anyone have an idea on whether they prefer Allen or Mayfield?

I wonder if they have more than one player ranked the same and whoever that is will be the “reason they traded up” its a bit silly right now, but Maybe they had a good reason.
The good reason is the poorly-kept secret that the Browns and Giants are taking Darnold and Rosen in some order guaranteed and the fact that Buffalo, Denver, and Arizona were in an arms race with you to get to 3, which the Colts clearly didn't feel a need to stay at.

If you're the Colts, though, why do this now? They received great value, but man, it could've only gone up between now and draft night with 4 teams in a battle for it.

Reading some of their boards many Jets fans fear they're taking Allen

But then again, they got a ton of value and I don’t think it would be possible to get any higher than that at the end of the day. I don’t think there was any better offers available even if they waited so they took the best one given to them.

I feel that this early of a trade down is two-fold

1) Luck is healthy or at least will be by the beginning of the season

2) Indy wants to get what they can now so they can start planning their own plan of attack to ensure they can protect Luck.

Think they are eyeing the 2 Notre Dame lineman. Barkley doesn't seem that bad either outside of the top 5 considering they need to surround luck with the best available talent if the top 2 lineman are gone.

You do realize they signed Teddy Bridgewater as well, right?

Two bridge guys who can't stay healthy for an entire season, so they'll be splitting the season, I guess. Not sure what Bridgewater was thinking going there.

Yeah, Allen can then sit and learn behind......Josh?

Exactly lol. It's mostly Baker love followed by Rosen, followed by the Browns messing up and passing on Darnold**

Edit: **coming from Jets boards

Value could go either way. But doing it now gives them more time to perhaps work another deal on draft night for 6 if the 4th QB is still available and desired.

I find it hilarious how it seems like all fan boards are fearing taking Allen

Some old school football guys can be easily outsmarted by internet message boards
