2018 Cleveland Browns Off Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
You can think whatever you want, but the key here is what John Dorsey wants the roster to look like. Heres that positional value pyramid again:

If primary edge rusher is in the second tier and shares it with left tackle (we don't have one) and primary corner (we don't have one) then let's not be too confident he is filling the fourth tier second edge rusher with the #4 pick. Let's see how it plays out.
I looked back at last season stats, TEs killed us, true #1 wrs killed us, backs out of the backfield killed us.

I know the thought of having 2 good, potentially great DEs sounds great, but I am more inclined to feeling better if we have a lockdown CB as apposed to another DE. We traded for Randall, all signs point to him becoming our FS, love this move

I want to jump on the Chubb wagon, but I can't. CB is our biggest need outside of having a young QB. Fitzpatrick and Ward would just be too valuable for us. Ward can be put on the outside and outside of some rookie mistakes, you can leave him alone. Fitzpatrick gives you an inside cb that can lock up the slot and TEs depending on the opponent. I believe Fitzpatrick can cover outside too which is why I would rank him higher than Ward, but I wouldn't blush if we picked either.

One thing I believe passionately about this front office that is refreshing:

This stands to be the most forward thinking front office the Browns have had in place since the return of the franchise. Looking back at the draft decisions is just baffling. The Browns often blew top draft picks on establishing the run through interior linemen and running backs. They also blew top draft picks on stopping the run, going after defensive interior players and run cloggers. They also loved the hell out of second-tier QBs with afuture holding a clipboard picked right after the last blue chipper was picked, but that's a whole different beef.

It's a passing league. Get the blue chip QB, but give him somebody to throw to. Get the pass rushing edge player, but don't forget defensive backs because you are going to need at least four of them on most plays. Draft like you play in the 21st century, don't try to recreate some nostalgic past.

You mean you weren't a fan of, "We're going to run the ball, and play staunch defense- Cleveland Browns football!!!" ??

I don’t get it with Guice.

Watching Barkley, Guice, Michel, Chubb, Ronald Jones, and Penny, I honestly like Guice the second least.

Maybe if people were talking about him as a guy you could get from the mid 2nd to mid 3rd I’d get it, but definitely don’t see a guy that you run up to the podium to get at 33 or 35. What am I miss Nah with him?

He was banged up most of 2017. Didn't get his explosion back until now. That said, Ronald Jones is my personal favorite in this class. I love him--I just wish he was a little bigger.

Hate to be that guy but why are we discussing draft prospects in the Off Season thread?

The current thread structure in Browns Talk is harder to figure out than who to take at 1 and 4. So many redundant threads got us lookin' like OBR up in here.

I'd worry about drafting high a running back who was banged up for most of the year due to injuries. The NFL is rougher on RB's than is college football.

Adrian Peterson had a lot of injuries in college. A lot of teams passed on him because of his injury concerns. I don't think you can judge a RB by injury history, unless it is something that can permanently slow him down.

If they don’t take whoever is left of Rosen/Darnold they’re idiots. Eli is not very good anymore. Plus I want Chubb to give me a Chubb
