2019 CFP Fiesta Bowl | #2 Ohio State vs. #3 Clemson | November 28th, 2019 @ 8 PM EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Great season with an unfortunate ending. Only one team can win it all and OSU gave themselves that opportunity by making the CFP. Just didn’t break their way. On to 2020! Go Bucks!

I am somewhere between blind rage over all the luck Clemson got and amazed we still almost won despite all of it.

Just unbelievable. And look, not taking anything away from Clemson, but OSU was the better team must of the game. However, penalties, inability to score, and some Kitchens-like coaching from Day, maybe the better team won. Play that 10 times and OSU wins 7 or 8 times tho

Whats the early outlook on 2020?

Also that was clearly a fumble. And that was not a targeting.

I have it 30-22 OSU. Take always Day’s punt block brain fart and two JK TD drops and it’s 38-15. And that’s about how I feel the game should have been. This was our year. Sucks.

Feels shitty today.

Yep. This is easily one of my favorite teams in recent memory. It’s such a bummer that they couldn’t get it done. I never felt like they were going to lose until the final minute, just thought they would find a way.

At Oregon week 2 and then back to back road games against Sparty and PSU. If we come out of Happy Valley without a loss we will run the table.

Im curious to see who we lose. It sounds like the most of offensive line will be back. We lose weapons at WR but have some absolute studs coming in at that spot. Gonna be tough to replace guys like JK and Chase. I think the secondary is where will we lose the most.

I expect them to be back in the playoffs next year

Offense should be strong again. Returning four of five from the o-line, Fields’ second year in the program, loads of talented underclassmen at WR. Biggest question will be at RB, obviously, since Dobbins is most likely off to the NFL. Going to need Teague to step up in a big way.

On defense, it’s all about who steps up in the secondary. All four guys there now are off to the NFL. LB corp needs to find a Harrison replacement. Obviously Young is gone, but Larry Johnson is a master at coaching d-line so I’m thinking that unit will be fine.

Coaching wise, they’ll be working on replacements for Hafley (BC HC) and Yurcich (Texas OC).

Bruh not one but two of my bosses are clemson homers. Fucking kill me

Good game, you only need six more titles to be in the conversation with OSU. Also we won it first.

The ref said after the game that on the catch/fumble “the ball was coming loose in his hands”.
Yes, it moved after he took 4 steps and it was stripped by Okudah.

I don’t understand how they can go back and overturn that. It be easier to understand if it was called an incompletion. The ref in front of the play thought it was a catch and fumble. What did they possibly see to change the call on the field?

3 of 5 OLineman. Bowen and Jackson graduate. Nicholas Petit-Frere will likely take Bowen's spot, although Paris Johnson might be good enough to start. Replacing Jackson will be interesting. I think Harry Miller is the next best interior OL but he's a center, so him starting would require a position change to him or Meyers. Matt Jones and Gavin Cupp were the next guys at G on the depth chart.

They should have a ton of depth on the DL. No way to replace Young, but Smith, Friday, Harrison, Cooper, Baptitste all could be good enough to start, then you have Togai, Cage, Vincent and Jackson at DT. Overall that group will be fine.

Similar thing with LB. Lose the best one in Harrison, but bring back Browning, Werner and Borland and a bunch of younger guys. Assuming AL Washington stays at LB coach, we'll be fine.

Biggest issue is secondary. Assuming Wade leaves, then you have to replace everyone. Proctor will be get the nod at safety, but CB is a big question mark. Riep has the most experience, followed by Cam Brown. Tyreke Johnson was 5 star in 2018 but has yet to play any meaningful minutes. With a new DB coach, this is by far the most flux.

Replacing Dobbins is obviously the other tough spot. I like Teague alot but he's clearly not the same.

WR should be stacked. 4 big time recruits coming in,plus some young guys, plus we know Olave and Wilson. We're going to throw a lot more in 2020, I think.
