Offense should be strong again. Returning four of five from the o-line, Fields’ second year in the program, loads of talented underclassmen at WR. Biggest question will be at RB, obviously, since Dobbins is most likely off to the NFL. Going to need Teague to step up in a big way.
On defense, it’s all about who steps up in the secondary. All four guys there now are off to the NFL. LB corp needs to find a Harrison replacement. Obviously Young is gone, but Larry Johnson is a master at coaching d-line so I’m thinking that unit will be fine.
Coaching wise, they’ll be working on replacements for Hafley (BC HC) and Yurcich (Texas OC).
3 of 5 OLineman. Bowen and Jackson graduate. Nicholas Petit-Frere will likely take Bowen's spot, although Paris Johnson might be good enough to start. Replacing Jackson will be interesting. I think Harry Miller is the next best interior OL but he's a center, so him starting would require a position change to him or Meyers. Matt Jones and Gavin Cupp were the next guys at G on the depth chart.
They should have a ton of depth on the DL. No way to replace Young, but Smith, Friday, Harrison, Cooper, Baptitste all could be good enough to start, then you have Togai, Cage, Vincent and Jackson at DT. Overall that group will be fine.
Similar thing with LB. Lose the best one in Harrison, but bring back Browning, Werner and Borland and a bunch of younger guys. Assuming AL Washington stays at LB coach, we'll be fine.
Biggest issue is secondary. Assuming Wade leaves, then you have to replace everyone. Proctor will be get the nod at safety, but CB is a big question mark. Riep has the most experience, followed by Cam Brown. Tyreke Johnson was 5 star in 2018 but has yet to play any meaningful minutes. With a new DB coach, this is by far the most flux.
Replacing Dobbins is obviously the other tough spot. I like Teague alot but he's clearly not the same.
WR should be stacked. 4 big time recruits coming in,plus some young guys, plus we know Olave and Wilson. We're going to throw a lot more in 2020, I think.
