2019 Cleveland Browns Regular Season

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
For all the praise Campen got this off-season, I am puzzled by Robinson's regression, especially these rumors of him not even knowing the difference between running and passing plays.

He has all the tools athletically. I just think he is a low-effort, low-IQ guy which are just about the worst "intangibles" for a tackle.

Its not really a regression, he's just the player he's always been save for like a few weeks in which he managed to do okay.

Its not like he was overly good even last year.

True and I've yet to see those rumors actually corroborated. I guess my point is that this line just plays so undisciplined at times - a lot of Robinson's issues are effort-related.

With Campen coming in so highly touted, I expected that we would at least play cleaner on the O-line, regardless of talent. That's where my frustration lies. I worry that there has been some friction amongst the offensive coaches in the background limiting our guys, albeit, that is pure speculation on my part.

Robinson currently and always will have bad footwork for his position and awful endurance. Against the "nine wide" technique, he is put on an island against a pass rusher. Bosa and Matthews both lined up on his outside shoulder and put him on roller skates in space. After several run plays you can also see him out of breath and struggling. He just never used his physical gifts the way draft experts hoped he would.

That said, he is a mountain of a man who gets by in short bursts as long as the quarterback gets the football out quickly. He is good enough to start in the NFL at tackle, but he isn't what the Browns would prefer to allow Baker to extend plays.

Any chance we move Robinson to right tackle? I don't think Robinson has been good, but he hast been awful either, just Meh....while imo Hubbard has been awful.

The surprise of the line has been Kush....but Kush has always been good to me.

On top of being better than G Rob, Solder is actually a cap save if he’s cut this off season...

So anyone claiming his contract is a hold up is just flat out wrong.
So based on these tweets give up a 2nd or 3rd for a guy we cut this offseason

uhhhhh

FWIW PFF grades Kush as by far our worst lineman at 48 overall, 66th ranked guard of 76 qualifiers

The fact is that the Browns cornered themselves by entering the season with three questionable-at-best starters on the offensive line. This was a mistake every one of us saw coming. Now they’re in a situation where they need to make a move, and that is not where you ever want to be.

Making all of this worse is Baker’s regression and Freddie’s decision to stop using pre-snap motion on passing plays.

Every time we use pre-snap motion we get a penalty for illegal motion or illegal formation. Reminds me of Hue's offense. I don't know who's at fault here, but if the players are fucking it up then I imagine Freddie decided to cut down on the amount of motion we do.

Edit: And I'm not blaming the refs for where we stand but GD I've seen plenty of other teams doing illegal motion or not having the right number of guys at the line of scrimmage or not being set after motion and the refs never call that shit on them. Pisses me off.
