2019 Draft, Pick #30 - Kevin Porter Jr., USC

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Echoing the "bummed" thoughts. KPJ was my favorite rookie this season and he really surprised. He looked to make things interesting. Hope the injury isn't too serious but you know how these things tend to go. Whatever the case, hope he heals and can play again. We can always hope it turns out like the other Porter Jr. appears to be.

Usually thats a good sign that they cant tell right away its an ACL... I think...

Well, then it could be an Achilles, right?

No
It restricted ankle/foot movement which put the load on the knee.
He wasn't moving much at the time of the contract luckily as he was about to move laterally.
Hopefully it's nothing.. an ACL tear for a player that relies on change of direction is a damn heartbreak. But more likely it is nothing/hyperextension or maybe lateral meniscus? Might have just buckled his knee because of the contact and there are just slight soft tissue irritation.

I read somewhere that No player has ever made an all star game post ACL. There’s no way that’s true, right?

Off the top of my head. Tim Hardaway tore his in GS at the beginning of his career and made AS games in Miami.

I guess the most obvious one around here should be Mark Price.

Oh you don't want that injury.

Right. That's the one Durant has and Kobe had, and .... well, we'll see. For Kobe, that was on the downside of his career but for Durant? We really need to see where that goes

Achilles and ACL are both terrible because, once you have one once, it makes it much more likely you face the same injury again.

Also puts other structures at overload risk. Both are supportive tendon/ligaments.
