2020-2021 Cavs Season General Discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If Love is on the team, he needs to come off the bench.

The team, especially the young starters, needs consistency and a massive amount of game reps with the same starting unit.

Love is the most likely to get injured throughout the season. If they go through a whole training camp building an offense that heavily features him in the starting lineup getting set plays and facilitating, all is does is cause the eventual and inevitable disruption when he misses games. He should have a 18-24 minute per game restriction(12-16 on second nights of a back to back) and those minutes should come off the bench.

It’s better for the Cavs, and frankly it’s better for Love as a bench role is what he’ll have if he’s traded at the deadline or bought out. He should see the wisdom in transitioning to that role immediately.

I think it depends on who they draft if they can put Love on the bench. Nance isn't any healthier than Love most of the time. Wade isn't a starter. Prince isn't a starting quality PF either.

If we can play Love, Nance, and Prince to get assets from them at the trade deadline or before, that is probably in the best interest of the organization. PF might be our deepest position but no long term answer.

Cavs were 8-11 with Wade starting. Not a great record but better than anybody else on the roster by far.

I like Wade and I think he can eventually lock up the backup PF spot. I'm just not sure how they can justify giving him the starting PF spot with the vets that are already on the team. I want him to get solid minutes so he can develop next season. They just need to trade some or all of those vets away first.

Most GM's think Love will get a buyout "sometime soon".

What a terrible article. The author himself does say "sometime soon". But then if you read the quote he uses to support that, it 1) is a quote from The Bullshit Whisperer, and 2) actually puts the timing at "either ahead of next season or at some point during the season." So even if The Bullshit Whisperer was a trustworthy source, "at some point during the season" hardly qualifies as "sometimes soon."

Did people in canton even go to those games?
They actually had a pretty good following there. When I watched a few games on-line (pre-COVID) the gym looked pretty crowded. I would guess between 2-3k, which in a small gym is a good atmosphere.

It looks like they get 2500-3000 people a game. My guess is it's more about consolidating the Charge and Cavs resources than getting people into the seats.

There might be an advantage if they share practice facilities and getting active bodies to scrimmage. I wonder if there is a loop hole to 2 way NBA days if they are in the same facility.
