2020-2021 Cavs Season General Discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Count me out on Josh Hart. Too small and doesn't help our outside shooting. Seems like a desperation play to me. Unless we can trade Sexton for a good, young, SF I don't think we're going to solve that position this summer. As for Cedi, I'd move him if a decent deal shows up, but, if not, he should be relegated to spot up shooting off the bench. He's not a point forward, so he shouldn't be dribbling the ball, and he doesn't shoot well unless his feet are set and he has time. When he rushes his shots or shoots off the dribble he's extremely erratic. That's what I see anyway.
Josh Hart is 6’5 (so how is he too small). Okoro is 6’5…..(no he’s not 6’7 or 6’6). Now I can’t say he’s a great shooter but he is definitely a better shooter than Okoro (not by much 43-41%)

I guess, to me, if Okoro is big enough to play SF we don't need Hart. But I don't think Okoro is big enough and, IMO, neither is Hart. Either of them could work at SF if we had a 6'7" guard who could switch onto the 6'8" SFs on defense, but we don't.

If there’s that many teams I’d almost guarantee Cavs are apart….. they need to be for wing help.

Anyways I'm going to keep beating this drum alone over here: if you replace Sexton with Hart here is how the height of the Cavaliers' 8 man rotation would compare to that of the Bucks (a big team) and the Suns (an average team) as they appeared in the NBA finals.

Bucks: 7.0, 6.11, 6.10, 6.7, 6.5, 6.5, 6.3, 6.2
Cavs: 7.0, 6.11, 6.8, 6.7, 6.5, 6.5, 6.3, 6.1
Suns: 6.11, 6.8, 6.7, 6.6, 6.6, 6.5, 6.1, 6.0

Who is going to exploit the Cavs here? Bobby Portis on Kevin Love?

Not worried about length so much when you have Tower City to help. We just need more consistent shooting

What makes you think he will get any better?
Past performance with better talent. The Cavs were injured and had no real PG off the bench for most of the year. Cedi is not a player that will improve with that, he’ll get worse. What position was he put in for his shots, etc? He may not get bette, but why does one lackluster year mean he’s going to get worse?

Sometimes guys also do better with a change of scenery.

6 to 8 teams?!?! Now, if I’m not mistaken, that would be unprecedented!

From the 1 minute search on Google. It seems a 5 team trade is most in history. I'm kind of interested to see what 6 to 8 teams are involved if the rumor is true.

No idea what 6-8 teams are involved but I wonder if Cavs are one of them and end up with a SF from somebody.

Here's the tweet thread from the supposed source. I'd love to see us get in on this somehow.

I'm mostly responding to the idea that Hart is too small to fit here and that the Cavs need to target a canonical SF.

I think the shooting concerns are reasonable and you could expect growing pains, but better rebounding, passing and defense all lead to more bites at the apple as well and higher quality shots.

Let's hope someone wants Hardenstein and he can be part multi team of a sign and trade.

There seem to be too many free agents this year and not enough money.

We probably are going to have to give up multiple 2nd round picks to get someone good.
