2020-21 Offseason Discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Always possible to add some salary by making a trade (Tribe sends away some prospects/ depth) to bring in a piece or two that is already making some money (say $8M or so)..

One has to think both our catchers are on the block. Perez certainly requiring the better return.

Over under we go into Spring Training with both these catchers? less than 50%. I'd say 35

100 % they both go to spring training wearing a jersey who's left sleeve once had Chief Wahoo residing on it....

Want to bet a beer and a brat? Pay up at ST in 2022??

Edit. Kurt Suzuki just signed a 1.5 mil deal as a 37 year old..

Unfortunately Tribe May have to eat some salary to find a taker for no hit Hedges at $3.2M.

Doubt Hedges is going anywhere. Same with Bebo (in 2021)..
Bo Naylor is still a few seasons away & after seeing how things went last year with Sandy Leon & Beau Taylor, I think the Tribe wants a solid C position as much as possible...

Per Jeff Passon tweet

Right-hander Corey Kluber and the New York Yankees are finalizing a deal that will bring the two-time AL Cy Young winner to the Bronx, pending a physical, sources familiar with the agreement tell ESPN.

with DJ LeMahieu and Kluber signed.. the NYY's will add $ 25 MM to their current payroll..pushing them RIGHT UP AGAINST the Luxury Tax Limit.. The stated goal of the NYY's was to "reset" the tax.. if they make any further changes.. and keep to their word on the tax limit.. they'll have to have cash negative deals.. We'll see..

actually it puts them at about $200, so they have a little wiggle room to still stay under the Luxury Tax limit and get it reset

I thought there was a small addition to the salary number to include medical benefits and other incidentals.. Usually not a lot ... but putting them right up against it..
