2020 B1G Championship | #4 Ohio State vs. #14 Northwestern | December 19th, 2020 @ 12 PM EST

why.

If Texas A&M had played Alabama this week they'd have been blown out again.

If we're gonna have this silly 4 team system, when you lose should make no difference.

You don't know that.

Bama is in a fucking dog fight with a Florida team that lost to LSU...

Teams change as the season go on. You improve or you don't at all. An argument can be made that A&M is a better team today than they were at the beginning of the season..

Just like LSU actually is.

And you don't know that they wouldn't.

Thus, because neither of us know, all games matter equally. That's the only rational, fair way to do it.

Getting blown out early shouldn't mean any less than getting blown out late.

But it does.

ND just lost to a guaranteed playoff team by 20+. Why do they deserve another shot? They just had theirs and blew it.

A&M could be a much better team. They deserve their shot.

That is true, which is why Ohio State only playing 6 games is a disadvantage. I highly doubt their young defensive players are as bad as they've played, but they haven't had the same chance to improve over the course of a season.

Still, I don't think A&M should get in over Notre Dame. They have similar resumes, except Notre Dame has two good wins and the Aggies have one. And Notre Dame has looked better until today.

Eh. If it's me deciding Notre Dame clear as day showed me they aren't the best team in the country today. They had a chance, all they had to do was not get absolutely shit stomped and they did.

I say A&M deserves their shot.

This is mind-boggling.

So let's reward A&M because instead of playing in their conferences title game this week they played a really terrible Tennessee team?

Lol.

Notre Dame just lost to another playoff team by 20+. Again, what the fucks the point of putting them in there again? They already have proven they aren't up to the task.

I remember the OSU title season under Tressel.

They had a big non-conference game against at top 10 Washington State team. They dominated that game.

As the season wore on, OSU had a bunch of really close games against bad teams. By the end of the season, there were a ton of commentators saying that while OSU deserved to be in the title game, not only were they not one of the top two teams, if they were to play Washington State again, they'd lose. because Washington State was better at that point.

Well, Ohio State went on to beat Miami and Washington State went on to get their doors blown off in their BCS game against Oklahoma.

Moral of the story: Everyone looks better when they're playing worse teams.

You go by what actually happened on the field. And what happened on the field was Alabama beating A&M by four touchdowns.

You're right. Notre Dame looked bad today.

The problem here is that A&M also got blown out by a playoff team.

I'm not gonna erase that game from existence and pretend it doesn't matter because it happened early. Either all the games matter or they don't.

Again this is more anti-competition arguments. because by this logic, Notre Dame would have been better off NOT playing in the ACC title game, getting covid, and cancelling it. Boy doesn't that seem stupid.

And Texas A&M lost to another playoff team by 28 points. I guess they could just put both of them in and leave out Ohio State instead of debating which one to put in. :p

So Cindy didn't take the field goal on 4th and 2 at the 5 when they were up 7 and now they're tied with 2 minutes to go. Better complete this drive.

Or you could get over the fact no one cares about IU
It’s a joke, don’t take it so hard. But if you want to be a dick, you should hope that the playoff committee cares about IU, because we’re your most impressive victory this season.

Was I pissed when the Big Ten changed the6 game rule? Hell yeah I was. But IU couldn’t play this week anyway, so it didn’t even end up mattering. I watched all three of Ohio, Alabama, and Clemson today. Maybe Ohio just had a bad game, idk, but between today and their game with IU, I don’t think they’re in the same class as those other two, and I don’t really think it’s very close. Not even hating, I just think the Big 10 is incredibly weak this year. I think neither IU nor Northwestern are as good as your normal top 15 team. But, we’ll see what happens in the bowls.
