2020 B1G Championship | #4 Ohio State vs. #14 Northwestern | December 19th, 2020 @ 12 PM EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I won't try to guess what the committee is going to do, but there's no good argument to leave Ohio State out. Talking about games they might have lost if they played more vs. teams that actually have lost games is a waste of breath. A third of the games they played were wins against good teams.

Now if they get in, I don't have any idea how they're competitive, but I can say the same about every team behind them in the rankings. A&M already got blown out by Alabama. Cincinnati would be +30 against Clemson or Alabama and wouldn't cover. Ohio State should get the shot.

Agreed. Just gonna suck stewing over another playoff loss all offseason. Sick of it

That's why I can't understand when people get upset at seasons like 2018. Sure, if we didn't eat shit in that one game we would've gone to the playoff, but that team wasn't going to win a title. If you can't be satisfied by beating Michigan, winning the B1G, and taking home a bowl trophy, your expectations are too high for this sport.

Titles are coming in the near future. I’m cool with whatever

Just really embarrassing for ND right now.

Can't say I'm looking forward to losing to Clemson in the semis again...
I am not saying they will. But, the committee could move the Aggies to 3 and put OSU at 4. It would avoid a Bama Aggies rematch and Clemson OSU rematch. They could use the Buckeyes sluggish first half as a reason.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they did this, because the committee has consistently been a shitshow.

It’s insane though, because a decent win over Tennessee is gonna move A&M ahead of OSU after a two-score win over a top-15 squad?

Think the committee has something to think about now.

I want Florida to beat Bama now. Bring on the chaos.

Wonder how they would rank undefeated OSU, one-loss Bama, ND, Clemson, A&M, and two-loss Florida who beat Bama.

This system is just awful.

Now the debate is which 1 loss team that got blown out deserves it more?

No debate about letting Cincinnati in though.

This is a problem, and it's leading to college football being a sport of haves and have nots to the extreme.

Recruits are gonna go to teams that can make the playoff. Only like 7 teams can usually make the playoffs. Even when they lose (like Alabama or Clemson) they still make it.

I mean has there ever been a point in college football where 4 major conferences have been completely dominated by the same 4 teams this long? Ohio State, Alabama, Clemson, and Oklahoma. I don't think this is healthy for the sport at all.

It's bad enough now that even Urban, who has been a staunch proponent for keeping the bowl games and no expansion, came out tonight and said they needed to expand the playoffs.

And the committee is just terrible. Useless. The computers were far better at this than they are.

They've shown their bias for protecting the big names very, very clearly this year.

Ohio State doesn't play, they don't drop. Cincinnati doesn't play, they drop.

Florida loses to a really bad LSU team and they drop...1 spot. Why? Because they HAVE to make sure that if Alabama loses, there is still no scenario on earth that a non-power 5 team can make it in.

Rooting for Florida to win and Cinci to drop 60 on Tulsa just to prove how fucking dumb this entire system is. And the fact that they couldn't change it in a year like this just shows how committed they are to protecting the power players at all costs.
