2020 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Wilks, who coached Kuechly, should IMMEDIATELY contact him for a role on the Browns staff.

That dude oozes emotion and leadership, just like Patrick Willis did when he retired too early. Though I think Willis got hooked up in Silicon Valley.

Mock Draft: Stefanski Addition

Cut (Cap Savings):
Chris Hubbard ($4.1M)
Morgan Burnett ($3.5M)
Terrence Mitchell ($2.3M)
Eric Kush ($1.8M)
Taywan Taylor ($975K)
Wyatt Teller ($440K)
Olivier Vernon ($15M) - Possible restructure

Sign:
Brandon Scherff - G - Washington - Zone blocking animal that stabilizes the right-side of the line.

George Fant - T - Seattle - Versatile lineman has played both spots. Teams with Scherff to form the new right side

Ant Harris - S - Minnesota - Big money year for him, Browns can pony up to bring him over as a culture changer and starter.

Stephen Weatherly - DE - Minnesota - Depth DL that will help potentially replace Vernon.

Draft:
*Browns trade 10th overall to Denver for the Broncos 15th overall, a 3rd rounder and 4th rounder

1 - Mekhi Becton - OT - Louisville - Absolutely massive dude with ample athleticism at just 20 years old. I don't believe he's the lump of clay others think it is, he can use his lengthy limbs and strength to have his way with rushers and is tough to get around. Monster in the run game.

2 - Ashtyn Davis - Former track star has crazy athleticism for the position and will test well. High SPARQ guy, but has some excellent football intelligence on the field. Not the best ball skills, but can be an asset in coverage or run support, much like Harris.

3 - Darrell Taylor - EDGE - Tennessee - Super bendy player is underrated in a deep EDGE class, will pair with Weatherly and Thomas to replace the production of Vernon opposite Garrett.

3 - Quartney Davis - WR - Texas A&M - Elite get off and short-area-quickness, would be extremely tough to match up with in play action with time for plays to develop. So many wide receivers in this class are draftable, this is a guy who I think would go higher in most years.

4 - Thaddeus Moss - TE - LSU - Undersized for the position, but his combination of blocking and receiving skills are SO impressive for a young player. NFL pedigree and excellent season in 2019, he'd be an unbelievable get here.

4 - Ross Blacklock - DT - TCU - Came back in 2019 after missing all of 18 with an Achilles injury. Super twitched up dude playing out of position at TCU where he played NT.

6 - LeVonte Taylor - CB - FSU - Way undersized, but this dude blew me away early in his career with his talent and athleticism. Think he develops into a nice Nickel guy and force on ST.

7 - Tanner Muse - LB - Clemson - Played FS in the Clemson system, I think they take him and develop him as a WLB to take advantage of his skills.

I like Mitchell for depth and 3.3 million isn't that bad. U think Carrier comes back at 8.1? No money for Schobert? rework Kirksey contract? Vernon 2 years at 10 million would be nice.

Davis might sneak in 1st after combine.

I agree with ur trade down. I see the top 2 OT being gone by 10. We need too much help on the defense to trade up. I still hoping maybe a future 3rd that can be future 2nd for Williams is in the cards.

The elite college QB starting as a freshman is a new phenomenon.

he did start all last year and was not bad, especially considering LSU has for decades had some of the most regressive clunky passing games in all of college football.
This year an innovative young Playcaller/offense designer came in with advanced NFL concepts and Burrow, a smart coaches son that was a 4 star prospect just thrived. The weapons and athletes have always been at LSU. Just never utilized in a progressive modern way.

Didn't he receive an undrafted free agent grade from the NFL advisory committee last year?

I just don't seem to be able to find a parallel.

Incredible poise in the pocket with the ability to just make the right read and get the ball out quickly before the defense gets to him. Backup QB for a top-2 B1G institution.

I mean, I don't want to say it, but I doubt Burrow goes in the sixth...

I’m not sure what you mean by this.

I’m speaking to how his prospect value has flipped in a year.

He has gone from a guy the advisory committee didn’t think would get drafted to the #1 overall pick.....in a 9 month period.

I was trying to think of an FBS player, with playing experience, that did something even remotely similar and I’m failing to find anyone.

I’m more just fascinated by his story. It’s not meant to disparage him in any way..... it’s just one of the wildest late blooming stories I have ever seen.

I'm saying he reminds me of Tom Brady.

The linebacker I'm excited to check on leading up to the draft is Justin Strnad from Wake Forest. He tore his bicep and needed surgery in October, but he was looking just as good as Simmons and Murray before the injury. He's fast, reads the offensive line well in finding holes, and had a great track record in pass coverage. The question will be how well he is recovering from the surgery, but that's a guy who will go on day three who could eventually end up a starter.

Keuchly retiring at 28 fucking blows. One of Ohio high school football's most memorable contributions to the game.
I was tackled by Luke Keuchly and it hurt like hell. The whole was wide open, I could have driven a truck through there. He came down on me like a freight train on cocaine. Needless to say I was pussyfooting around the rest of the game.

Now, instead of some shitty Iowa running back, imagine this is Nick Chubb that gets to run behind that monster.

BTW, I think he's probably a RT at the NFL level, but I also don't really care. Put him at RT and let him just dominate for the next 10-15 years. Literally plug and play for the Browns/Stefanski offense.

I will be incredibly disappointed if the Browns pick anything other than a Tackle with their first pick in the draft this year.

It's very high in the hierarchy of positions of importance in today's league, and the Browns had maybe the worst combination of them in the NFL last year.

Also, Stefanski likes running outside zone, which means the two tackles are even more important. The kid from Iowa is coming from zone-blocking university and Becton is special. I’d be good with either right now.

So... thoughts on getting all three of Thomas, Becton and Muti? :chuckle:
I'm sure this is very accurate and Becton will still be around in the third.

If we come away with McKinney & Thomas, without sacrificing assets (aka moving up)....I will personally blow the entire front office.
