2020 NBA Draft

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Sorry to quote myself, just adding my thoughts on the two bigs:

Wiseman: this doesn't mean what it used to, but he is one of the top center prospects over the last 10 years, in line with Embiid and Towns. Elite length and athleticism. High School film shows an ability to shot from the outside. With so little college experience to review, you almost have to look at him as if he is coming straight out of high school, so there is certainly risk there, is he closer to KG or Darius Miles? Talent wise, I have him on an elite level, but with so little high level data, he isn't a no-brainer. Biggest questions for me, is he a hard-worker? Any attitude issues? If we land at #1, he is my pick due to the freakish talent and length, but I'm kinda hoping that he is some other teams' risk to take.

Okongwu: I'm a huge fan...strong, high level athlete, soft touch around the rim and solid length. USC did his draft stock no favors by using him exclusively as a low post center (although he did excel at it on the college level), you have to go back to high school film to see that he can hit a 18 foot jumper. Not much evidence of it, but he looks to me to be able to switch and guard the perimeter. He is my pick if we are anywhere except #1.
I don't think Wiseman is on that level. He's a very good prospect, but those guys were absolutely elite prospects.

Yeah his measurables are similar, but the skill level is not as far as we know. Dwight coming out of high school might be the better comparison because Dwight was a pretty big question mark and was raw. Comparing prospects not how they turned out.

I think he's clearly been the Cavs target all along, and I've been completely on board.
my biggest concerns with Avdija are his lack of lateral speed to defend nba perimeter players despite having solid straightline speed. The lack of typical length to handle defending 4's and even some 3's hurts his stock imo. I think he is a caught between positions and despite his BBIQ clearly being solid unless they think his shooting is going to be much better than historical data suggests or that he can defend the 4 he is Cedi 2.0 and not on their radar at all.

Lol..
His lateral quickness is excellent.
I love it when people are so confident despite not seeing any live action.

Always love watching tall wings not afraid to play in the post. That's always a good sign. He has gotten bigger and his burst is impressive for his size.
I think he is almost as tall as Amare.

Shot looks more compact and faster. If he is a legit good shooter it changes the calculus on him a little.

Darius
Collin
Deni

Porter
Windler
Cedi

Or swap Darius and Porter. That looks ok from a guard wing rotation. I think you can get them all minutes.

He is a much better fit as a 4 than Cedi will ever be. He is 2 inches taller, stronger ,better rebounder and a shot blocker
We would have lineups that could outrun opponents in every position. Though we would be still be missing a future stud at the 5.

Yeah. We talked about it. But his blk plus stl numbers didnt translate to the seniors.

Yeah...I still kinda like it though, like as a ceiling? Big, wirey strong, high-IQ, light on his feet. Not a volume scorer/passer, but gets the job done.

Umm nice story . Hes not high lottery upside material so unless you want to trade down and get him while picking up more picks not much sense in arguing this.
I see a lot of meh competition in most highlights the fanboys are following.
I like him as a high floor role player not worth a high pick

What makes other players in the lottery have more upside? How do you calculate upside without sufficient data?
