New GMs in Minnesota and New York. Mitch Kupchak entering year two in Charlotte. None of the three responsible for the previous woes of their current franchise. Winning playoff teams not being granted workouts with most lotto players. By virtue of record, almost all of the top10 teams are “stupid organizations”All the stupid organizations working out Toppin.
Can anyone imagine having Love, Toppin, Sexton, and Garland on the floor at the same time...talk about a train wreck on defense.
I wonder what Garland's value is on the trade market. Could Garland with Love or Drummond net us a good draft pick or younger vet player to reshape our roster? Then that would allow us to take Haliburton with #5 and maybe get a clear direction to build out the roster.
I believe I've posted compelling arguments not to draft Toppin in this thread and several others based on his skillset and physical attributes....just don't feel like reposting all of it again tbh.New GMs in Minnesota and New York. Dislike Toppin all day, but make the compelling arguments for it, not the ones that don’t check out

If Okoro really impressed the Cavs with his jump shot mechanics, we know the Cavs are big on in person workouts. We know they are big on intangibles, work ethic, and competitiveness.
You really have to think/hope he’s their top target at 5 if Ball /Wiseman don’t slip to 5.
The issue may be more if Minn or GS drop down to 3 or 4 to take him, vs another team trading up to get him.
One week to go
This is the draft I am going to hold against the Cavs if they mess it up. Garland has to turn out better than Haliburton. Haliburton is THE best possible fit in the backcourt with Sexton. They would cover each other's deficiencies while Garland/Sexton magnify theirs. If Garland is just your average guy, and Haliburton is as good as I think he is, I will point to this draft where they didn't have the guts to pick the guy that statistically grades out as the choice, and corrects the issues with our best player. This is really threading the needle. Garland needs to turn out, the new pick needs to turn out, and Haliburton needs to be just a guy that isn't as good as all the evidence says.
I personally think Haliburton is a bigger guy, better defender, shooter, and playmaker than Garland. Why is Garland considered the better prospect? I saw people say Garland would go #1 in this draft. Why? I just hope the Cavs are right about him being a baller.

I also think that the odds of trading Sexton or Garland in the future is high because of their size. Drafting Haliburton doesn't really change that fact but insures that we have a proper rotation when it eventually happens. The skill set, size, and flexibility Haliburton gives will most likely allow him to be a part of any rotation we have in the future. He most likely will solidify a starting spot in some way.
The way I look at it is if Sexton, Garland, KPJ, and Haliburton all work out who is the most likely to the least likely to be traded for another piece. What I believe is Haliburton would come up on most of the front office people's list to stay especially if you said pick the 3 we want to build with gong forward. He just seems like an easy player to figure out how to play with other guys. He just doesn't have the conflicting skill set and size of Garland and Sexton. He is a player that in the modern NBA is easy to find minutes for on any team.
