Padres, Indians Complete Mike Clevinger Trade

Interesting response to "...sure they will..." regarding the inclusion of Civale.. The full context of the "sure they will" comment comes on the heels of the original premise that the Blue Jays would be looking to acquire via free agent signing one of Jackie Bradley Jr. or George Springer, making:I really doubt they will move Civale unless they get a fair amount back for him as well and they have someone who is legitimately ready to replace him. If they move Lindor and Civale, they would be getting a haul to great to refuse (which likely would include a high pitching prospect as well). It's like less than a 1% chance someone will offer what the Indians want for both Lindor and Civale.

"...one of their [Jays] three OF'ers "expendable".. So, the actual deal would more clearly read:
Jays get:
-Francisco Lindor
-Aaron Civale
-Bobby Bradley.
Indians get:
-One of Lourdes Gurriel Jr/Teoscar Hernandez c-OF'er
-Jordan Groshans SS/3B
-One of Simeon Woods-Richardson/Alek Manoah/Adam Kloffenstein SP's
-Orelvis Martinez SS
-Riley Adams C
So, as stated.. a "high pitching prospect" was included in the original comment. The Indians would be offered a single choice from three of the Jays top four pitching prospects (Nate Pearson was excluded..as that would "zero out" the chances of a deal). A high end SP prospect, Groshans and one of the two OF'ers would be a great return for Civale/Lindor.. Both teams would be inclined to "throw in" some guys that help their team in other ways.. In the Indians case.. they improve their catching depth and add SS (could move to 3B) Orelvis Martinez who's been comp'd as approaching the same skill set as a very young HOF'er Adrian Beltre (of course.. this is hyperbole)..
This is the kind of deal that both sides can "claim" finish their teams.. The Jays move chubby Vlad to 1B (and have Bobby B as a power stick/back up), Bichette to 3B (where Groshans would be blocked) w/ Lindor taking over leadership and the SS spot. Instead of dumpster diving for a ML SP.. the Jays fill their rotation with Civale..
If the Jays would prefer someone other than Bobby B (Sam Hentges as an RP?).. that would work too..
Thoughts?..
Yet another high revenue team NOT in on Lindor. Tribe will need to prioritize trading Cookie.

So.... from this comment it's an absolute certainty the Red Sox and Indians are discussing a Lindor + SP to Boston deal.. just another method to gild the lily..Yet another high revenue team NOT in on Lindor. Tribe will need to prioritize trading Cookie.
yep - the team that wouldn't go all the way with bettsI can't think of anyone that thought the Red Sox would be in on Lindor anyway.
