2020 Trade Deadline Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The fans reactions do matter but I promise you that they do not weigh as heavily as you are making it seem. If you actually looked you would see that there’s a lot of Texans fans who want the team to trade JJ Watt to a team where he has a handle to win.

Browns fans were saying the same thing about Joe Thomas. How many years did we have people on here practically begging to Trade Joe Thomas to The Broncos? I guarantee that now team is sitting in their meeting rooms thinking how to improve their team and backing out on moves because of fan pressure.

They aren’t going anywhere or winning anything anytime soon. If they can get a decent pick for JJ Watt they will absolutely consider it. They’re not going to turn it down because a few fans might get emotional. Every single year there’s teams in the NFL that move on from players who were franchise guys and it’s all business.

The Seahawks broke up the LOB. Patriots and Tom Brady. Panthers and Cam Newton. Brett Favre. Peyton Manning. Joe Montana. Julius Peppers. Emmitt Smith.

JJ Watt isn’t immune to this. Why would you think that he’s the one guy that this wouldn’t apply to? If the Texans get a decent offer he’s gone. All the chatter around him has been about trade rumors.

And your schtick where you try and spin every thing I say is pretty tired. It’s borderline obsessive. You should chill. I shouldn’t be in your head rent free.

Just think of how many wives are getting beaten because your hot takes have driven everyone mad.

Half of your examples involve free agency... not a team trading the face of their franchise. You're right--Tom Brady is a good comparison. The Patriots never would have traded him.

You don't live in anyone's head Los. You live on this board, and when you constantly throw out posts desperate for any big name on any of our sports teams, it's a bit exhausting.

But hey, watch the Texans trade JJ Watt to a team like Cleveland without him asking to be traded and I'll eat all the crow in the world. That just isn't going to happen.

Bro, if you dare call out the fact that he's been spouting awful, reactionary hot takes on this board for years, it's clearly just a shtick and you're obsessed with him. Don't let him live in your head rent free!

I can see watt getting traded. He doesn’t have many good years left and Houston is a mess. I’m sure he’d be ecstatic to play with Garrett. But unless we fix the middle of the field we have no chance.

I think it's easy to get caught up in 5-2 and say "well if they add some defensive reinforcements, who knows what might happen!"

But I think deep down the front office knows this team isn't a legitimate contender. With that in mind, I just can't see them sacrificing quality draft assets to acquire veteran defensive players that may not add even one single extra victory.

They're probably going to win 9 or 10 games if they don't add anyone. Anyone they add would need to help in 2021 too at least.

I definitely think they would consider something like the Ronnie Harrison trade. Giving up a late rounder for a guy still on his rookie contract.
I agree with all of this. I think if we make any trades before the deadline it is for a young depth player that fits in the scheme, not a big name veteran.

FOH dude. You've become a personal fan of all of my post. You are clearly the one who is obsessed with breaking down every last one of my OPINIONS. Nobody every told you to interpret all of my opinions as facts. Maybe you don't have an interesting enough life to have your own opinions so you just hang off every word of mines. I'm flattered but your service is not needed.

But if you want to waste your time intentionally going against every single thing I say then do whatever floats your boat.

Bit too far on that one.

Especially with Odell lost for the season, John Ross could probably be had for a very late round pick.

I don't think he's spectacular by any means, but while we're channeling 2018 Baker how about we grab a Breshad Perriman replacement?

No one on our current roster has that elite speed to take the top off of the defense like Perriman was doing. Would complement the current group well.

I like Brandon Cooks as an option on that list. He still has some juice and he compliments our current receivers well.

They only move JJ if he asks to be traded. They'd also let him decide where he wants to go.

There's no way that team trades JJ Watt, no matter how much @Los216 would love to get an older player with a big name on this team. If they traded JJ Watt without him wanting to leave, that fanbase would riot.

I am married to a Texans fan.

I would be absolutely floored if JJ Watt played for another team in his career. He loves Houston, and Houston loves him. In the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, he raised tens of millions of dollars for people that were impacted.

He is a fixture in that community and will probably have a statue outside NRG Stadium whenever he decides to call it quits.

Adam Thielen makes a lot of sense. Julio would be great.
