Ross doesn't contribute anything. He's complete ass on defense and he can't shoot on offense. I honestly prefer neither on the team. I would explore any scenario where we trade Cedi for someone other then Ross who is down right terrible.
42/38/84 for his career Cedi is 42/34/73 not much difference and Cedi is 4 years younger.
There is really no point in having either of them on the Cavs imo

42/36/83 for Ross. In his 5 years in Orlando it's 35% from Three Point land. He's not long. He doesn't solve any of the teams issues on the wing. If people cry about Okoro playing SF just wait for Ross to play SF for us. I agree neither should be on the Cavaliers. But why trade for the one who makes more money and is somehow a worse defender.

I'm hopeful cedi can have a better year than last. His shot was just trash. If we can somehow get him to just play a normal hench role of shooting when open and playing D

I was a big Cedi fan initially. He has hardly improved and in some areas gotten worse. He has a Drummond like tendency to just make inexplicable decisions. He'd be playable if not for his mental mistakes. You don't see that in Turkey. It is like he gets flustered in the NBA and sped up. I wouldb't be surprised if he went somewhere else and was suddenly good.

Still, it's going to be difficult to suck worse than he did last year.

I am unfortunately and unfathomably falling into this trap (again!)

But he was extraordinarily garbage last year. His February/March run was maybe the worst I have ever seen from an NBA player getting actual rotation minutes.

At wing, I'd be fine with Svi for half of the MLE or less. At least he can shoot it, usually. Fills a weakness if Windler can't stay healthy. Maybe Denzel Valentine as plan B? Not many good fits are available here.

3rd PG? Maybe the Wolves wouldn't match on McLaughlin? Wouldn't mind a cheap flyer on Ntilinka.

Backup Center? Willy Hernangomez? Khem Birch?

Depressing options all around

Ross is a decent shooter, let’s not pretend otherwise. Sure, he’s streaky, but 36.7% on high volume throughout his career is solid.

He’s a serviceable role player. Orlando just doesn’t generate any corner 3’s for him where he’s a 38.8% shooter for his career.

In Toronto, those accounted for over 30% of his 3PA.

In Orlando, they’ve accounted for just over 10%.

I can see why Altman would like to have a 3rd PG. If one of the first two go out, you're sort of stuck in a bad place.
But I sure don't want to spend much money for him, even if he has experience. I'm sure some summer league PG will do just fine.
We need a wing badly!
I think this signals the focus still on potentially moving Sexton. With Garland, Sexton and Rubio, we have 3 guys capable of playing the 1, we don't really need a 4th. If Sexton is gone though, we have that need. Just makes me feel we are still testing the waters for trading.

I think Mott's point alludes to the fact that the Cavs don't want Sexton anywhere near the "1" :praying:

Those percentages...Cedi, say it ain't so. I remember all the hype this board levied upon him. I even jammed with some friends over beers back in the day about Cedi and my hopes for him based on some of your takes on these boards. We were all way off. He regressed, and that is tough to find at the professional level. Its like he did nothing during any off season except put conditioner in his hair.

Too bad he has that SF size, as that will all but guarantee some minutes for him. If we had anyone in that slot, he'd be 10-12 in the rotation.

Please don't get Oubre. He has barely developed in his 4 years in the NBA. He cannot defend. He cannot shoot. He can't create his own shot. He is a good athlete and can cut at an acceptable level. However, he plays like he is Kevin Durant or something...awful awful fit for us. I would rather just throw money at whoever the best under 24 SF is in the gleague and let him fight it out with Cedi/Windler.

Dont have Svi but I wouldnt give him more than a few mill. Otherwise there isn't much left right now...

Oubre is actually entering his 7th season. So he hasn't developed in 6 years.

you rounding down is funny to fit your argument lol
The bottom line is you are not impressed with Ross and tbh neither am I last season he was pretty meh.
Overall he has been a much better offensive weapon than Cedi, but he won't be in CLE because he won't want to be here anymore than Cedi wants to be a raw rookies back up last season.
I think the rejected younger unproven sf market is the only option they have now. No guarantees that player or players is even as good as either of these two either though smh

You went from 36.7% to 38%. Sure I rounded down. You rounded up and then added 1% point on top of it. Who is trying to make the statistics fit their argument?

oops yeah I did that line jump shit, but who cares in the grand scheme he has declined from his days in TOR where he did avg 37.6 lol which matches Cedi time in the league about now. I want them to trade Cedi for an inefficient sf that is on the block in Atlanta who maybe can play some defense. But Atlanta probably wont want the jedi
