2021 Around MLB: Return of the Dead Ball Era

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Colorado is still just a nasty place to pitch.

Nevermind.

Bauer gave up two 2 run dingers to start the seventh.

Geesh.

After Bauer was pulled after getting one out in the seventh, Price came in and gave up consecutive monster home runs.

Why anybody would voluntarily pitch in Colorado is beyond me.

I've been one to question the White Sox as prohibitive favorites in the division, and tonight's outing by Keuchel and the continuing defensive misadventures argue in support of the proposition that this team is a bit overrated. But lordy, I got my first eyeful of Michael Kopech tonight--simply electric, and virtually unhittable--and earlier, Matt Foster--also dominant--and last night Aaron Bummer was undone by his defense, but he's really, really good...and all that without seeing Liam Hendriks until ten minutes ago. This White Sox bullpen is LOADED. And that's without Garrett Crochet! If their lineup can overcome the runs their starters will surrender,it will be virtually impossible to rally late against this team.

Bauer was electric tonight in Colo. Got down 2 sac bunts also.

Slider and cutter were outstanding. Tried to throw a 1st pitch CB for a strike to Blackmon in the 7th that he was clearly looking for and that he swung at. The other was a cutter down and in that the guy just dropped the bat head on and golfed out. A true mountain high home run.

Beautiful night for baseball in gods country here in the Rockies. Was right behind home plate and it was really fun to watch Bauer take the no hitter to the 7th. Standing ovation by Dodgers fans on the way off the mound.

Felt like being at Dodger stadium all night long there were so many Dodger fans. Reminded me Cubs fans for the WS in Cleveland in '16, when Clevelanders sold out by selling off all their WS tickets to the Cubs fans so Progressive had more Cubbies than Indians in it.

I have often wondered if those 2016 WS tickets were ever actually in the hands of Indians fans, or if they had simply been scalped by the ticket wholesalers and opportunists to whomever paid their usurious rates.

As an attendee of that series, I certainly noticed a presence (though not a preponderance) of Chicago faithful. I hesitate to stigmatize the Cleveland sports fan as much as I would MLB (who owned the seats) and the ticket brokers for that.

Love seeing Kluber back on the mound.

Every season ticket holder had the opportunity to buy up to eight tickets for every game before they went on sale to the general public.

I brought 8 people to each of the first two games. $83 bucks a ticket, standing up in the things that look like shipping containers in right field. It was an absolute blast. Getting the opportunity to go to a World Series game as a group of 8 friends is something not many people get to do in their lifetime. We were also on the main TV broadcast at one point in game 1. I'll never forget the series.

I bought 8 tickets down the third baseline for game 6 for $375 a pop and sold six of them at $1800 a piece. I bought 5 tickets for game 7 in the same section at $375 each and sold three of them at $2,500 a piece. My wife was busy for game 6, so I took a buddy. Took my dad with me to game 7.

I made over $13,000 in profit off those sales and paid off the majority of my student loan.

I was a 20-game season ticket holder. My season tickets that year cost me a whopping total of $506.

The Indians never should have allowed every single season ticket holder to purchase that many seats.

Just looking at our Rule 5 guys .... Oviedo got 1st appearance today in 8th and had 2 ground outs and strike out to 7th, 8th and PH spot in 5-1 loss.

Tom is 0-3 w strike out.

Beau Taylor got claimed today... I thought he would. So now we have to figure out who the AAA catcher outside of Lavarnway will be lol

So the Reds took a flyer on Beau Taylor... fine. At least we wont confuse him with Bo Naylor any longer (trying to hear/ understand who is playing)..

I thought I saw Gianpaul Gonzalez got resigned to a minor deal & I thought there are 4 catchers at the Tribe alt site... Perhaps the option is already in house. Otherwise, what about the guy the Reds designated - Deivy Grullon as a minor league depth guy??

Edit: Yes, according to cleveland.com, the Tribe has 4 catchers at the alt site already:

Catchers: Gavin Collins, Ryan Lavarnway, Mike Rivera, Eric Rodriguez.

I wonder about the kid that

I was gonna post the same thing, mad.

fwiw, we pretty much gave lavarnway to the reds to help them both out in '19 - he had 2 hrs and 6 rbi in his first game - he hadnt more rbi or hrs in a season for 6 six years
