Lamar has a glaring weakness in that he struggles to throw outside the numbers. He has inconsistent ball placement in the middle of the field but his legs are so elite that defenses struggle in trying to contain him AND not leave TEs and WRs wide open in the middle of the field. He is pretty terrible in passing against man coverage but eats it alive with his legs, and zone works best to defend against his legs but he is able to pick it apart sometimes with his passing. We don't know if they have that or not. That's a mark on the coaching, not Lamar.
I guess my point is - unless he improves his passing and ball placement, I really don't care if he had 2 Calvin Johnsons as outside receivers. He's not going to utilize them well, and if he tries to force it to the outside a lot in a game then he's playing right into the defense's hands.
I love Lamar as a person and think that as long as he remains healthy he will remain a major problem/obstacle for us. Until he loses athleticism, that is.
