Is there any guy we are supposed to keep out eyes on from that roster. I don't really recognize any names yet...

The 2 big names for 2020 were Genao and Alduey who got $1.2 mill and top 25 signees range. Lopez the catcher got $1 mill, so not that far behind. Also infielders, Polanco and Rivera got $500k. Most of 2019 elite signees, Pastano, Devers and Durango went to Arz.

Espino getting bumped up to Lake County opens a spot for Gavin Williams in Lynchburg.

I wonder if it’s possible to truly develop two MLB starter potential catchers at the same level with a DH-C rotation? Definitely don’t want Naylor demoted and think he will have a strong second half and am not that discouraged by his first half as I somewhat expected it. All that said I would love to see Lavistida at AA sooner than later.

We need to see Lavastida at AA honestly to see how is bat holds up... Lavastida can play other positions as well on paper since he was a college MIF.

If there is a compelling need/ reason to promote him, then promote him.
Otherwise he might be kept in High A to make it more difficult for another team to justify selecting him in the December R5 should he be left unprotected..

Its harder to hold onto a 3rd catcher (or make the normal catcher start 85-90% if the R5 guy is the primary backup) then hide an extra OF/INF/ arm in the bullpen to keep the R5 selection..

Jose Baez’s full name is Jose Baez Ramirez and he is the younger brother of perennial All-Star, Jose Ramirez
Are you serious or fucking with us? Don't get me wrong, I'd think it was funny if you were indeed fucking with us.

I haven't had the time to get to any Columbus games yet. Anyone here seen any since Ramos was signed. If so, how does he look behind the plate? He's only had 10 AB, but hitting .400 is a good sign.

The problem with trying to put Lavastida through the Rule 5 draft is the fact that one) He has a high floor type of bat. Looking at his numbers, his worst case scenario is Clement with more power... That's his bat right now, not what it could potentially be, so I think if he can be an average to plus defender as a catcher (his Range factor and whatnot say he can be) there won't be any issue as a backup catcher. 2) He's a converted catcher, from 3B/SS plus he has good speed for a catcher, so he can play other positions outside of catcher. I don't think a team would be scared to take him and make him an utility guy like the Blue Jays did with Gomes. To say his potential is Tony Wolters/Chris Hermann type with a slightly better bat and defense, isn't actually to much of a stretch.

Edit: I got the right name lol
