2021 Minor League Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Who would we say are our top 5-10 guys in the ACL and Dominican leagues currently? I’ve kinda lost track of who are our most highly thought of prospects at that level.
I have a decent feel on the position players.

Greene
Sanquintin
Tolentino
Tucker
Genao in the DR

No clue on the pitchers though. Good question.

Greene is probably the "hottest" name in for our ACL team. Expect him to finish the year in Lynchburg.

Lavastida is a fast riser on my prospect lists. Probably top 15 at least.

I wouldn't put him there because of innings at C, but if he can hit like HRam and have a plus catching ability, he would be legit...

I certainly hopes he hits better than Harold.

Bimbo noted earlier this year he is a fluent bilingual and already calling the pitches/games. Defensively he has really blossomed into a catcher and it's probable he is still getting better.

As far as our current crop of MILB catchers go, he is the most advanced on the list as far as future MLer's go. He has certainly passed Naylor as far as who is next in line, not prospect status.

Can't wait to see what he does in the higher levels. If he stomps AA he could reasonably start 2022 in Columbus with a first sighting in a Guardians uniform in 2022.

At the current moment his bat profile is similar to an Owen Miller, HRam etc, the guys who use the whole field, but don't have a ton of HR power. He also does take more walks. 9 HRs in his minor league career, but that's against 35 2Bs, so his gap power is there, but I never expect him to get a lot of HRs.

Well we need a game report! How was Scott, Kwan, Rocchio, Benson and Lavastida?
I thought the glove work was better than the big club! Monasterio started a sensational double play in the 3rd inning I think? Naylor still looking lost at the plate, Lavastida making hard contact. I didn't stay for the entire game, which ended up in a 12! inning loss. Kwan is fun to watch as he zips around. Benson, I dunno. He's impressive to see, but not ready. I did notice that the outfielders all made Very Loud calls on pop flies, louder than I remember hearing before.

Monasterio was the utility guy acquired in the Yan Gomes trade... He will get to AAA, but I don't think he will ever make the pros, but he can play in the field...

Kwan is on the bubble for next season, he is Rule 5 eligible and he's putting up good numbers at AA. Doesn't mean he is pro worthy, but he is one to keep an eye on in 22 since there is a possiblity he gets added to our 40 man or a 26 man roster.
