2021 Trade Ideas and Deadline talk!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Agree but trading Hernandez and Eddie won’t yield much given their career worst seasons in 2021.
Really don't care what the return value is. Dealing them should be a salary dump to help free up some extension money for Bieber, Plasac, Civale or Jose. Being honest here, this is not a playoff type team and neither of these 2 guys figure in their future plans. That they both stink this year to me isn't
that important.

Does BABIP almost 100 points lower than his career say anything about how his season is going? His OPS since May has been way over .700 and yes his numbers aren't great but they haven't been as bad if you look at the other numbers....
Sorry but you guys spend waaaayyyy too much time sifting through all your stats to try and make yourselves feel better about the shitty situation this team is in. Keep telling me how unlucky we were when we are sitting home for the playoffs.

I am surprised that little/ nothing has been said about Mitch Haniger getting hurt in his at bat vs Bieber on sunday..

The Seattle team site is suggesting Haniger is day-to-day but I would not be surprised if Haniger is down for a few weeks or longer..
This injury could possibly impact the trade value Haniger has.
Time will tell.

Well I'd rather be positive than be negative... And I think as the season ends, Hernandez's numbers will get back to normal. He cannot keep his BABIP so low. It's actually almost impossible too

Yep he has a career high xwOBA this year and 2020 was his previous career high. Both are the only two years where he was above the league average benchmark.

There's a market for an average to slightly-above-average hitter who can play 2B.

I don't think sifting through stats is done to make anybody "feel better". IMO it's just gathering as much information as possible in an attempt to understand how the results have come about. I'm not one to dig and delve too deeply, mostly because others around here have more of a desire to do so and are simply better at it.

With all do respect, I think you're jumping to conclusions a little too quickly on players with extensive track records. That's not to say you're wrong, but you just don't have enough evidence to support your case at this time.

Is this team in a "shitty situation"? For me, their relatively good performance has been somewhat of a surprise actually. Especially after Plesac and Reyes went on the IL. The organization is very healthy, even if they don't find the success some hoped for this season. Keep in mind that the season isn't even half over and stranger things have happened. It will be interesting to see what happens going forward, but I will be disappointed if the team isn't much better next season after we've trimmed the fat and some of the talented prospects begin to find their way to Cleveland. Not to mention any acquisitions that may happen.

I love how talking about reality is "sifting through all your stats to try and make yourselves feel better."

It's even better when it's coming from someone having an emotional reaction to the team's performance.

I don't think we're going to make the playoffs. That doesn't have anything to do with the things @sportscoach pointed out.

If you're not able to contribute to the conversation, that's fine--but don't try to denigrate everyone else who's able to.

Shades of Ron Gant.. that was a NASTY foul off his knee.. contusion.. or worse.. his knee buckled.. just a little.. and that's all it takes..

ouch..

Mejia starting tonight, Quantrill tomorrow, and TBD Thursday. Wow. I can see how it would be easy to be pessimistic about the Tribe's playoff chances.

Bieber is optimistic.

“What we’re going through right now as a rotation, we’re facing some adversity. But it’s not just the rotation. You saw the bullpen pick us up huge on Saturday. It’s every single arm ready to rise to the occasion and challenge. As long as we continue to do that, we’re definitely going to continue to get better as we get arms back. . .I think we’re going to be in a real good spot at the All-Star break and after that.”

The key is to keep finding ways to eke out wins against bad teams (the next seven games are against the Orioles and Pirates) until we get Plesac and Reyes back and hopefully the bats wake up.

However, we're playing the Orioles, who have lost 15 straight on the road. We could see some really bad starting pitching this series.

It could be Morgan Thursday since he had a non-injury scratch from his start... But that's still speculation on my part...

Define pretty damn well. A .236 BA to me doesn't qualify as pretty damn well.

3rd most HR (9) among 2B since 5/1

I'll spare you any additional stats since you're seemingly only focused on batting average

With all due respect Hernandez is having a shitty year and there is no other way to spell it out. Is there time to turn it around? Sure. But as of today, right now, it ain't happenin'. You can give me all your fantasy island stats you want to that says theoretically he should be hitting this or his OBA should be this but that's fantasy island my man. The #'s are the #'s.

Me saying Hernandez is having a bad year is an emotional reaction? LMFAO!!!!!!

So because some math nerd came up with a formula that says in theory he should be hitting this but the raw #'s tell me something different that is reality. LMFAO!!!!!!!

If you're not able to keep up and contribute to my conversation, that's fine--stay tf out of it.

Reality? lmfao

ahhhh.....and here we have it. As long as we achieve the three true outcomes in this new baseball world we are golden. You got me chief. HR's are truly the only thing that matters in the game. I stand down.
