2022 CFP Peach Bowl | #4 Ohio State vs. #1 Georgia | December 31st, 2022 @ 8:00 PM EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I would've been far more at peace if we got stomped early. Instead I'm sitting here in the bargaining stage on New Year's lol.
A miss is as good as a mile. And vice versa!

Also, an aside, but I'm so beyond over all of the SEC teams getting fucking home games for the CFP.

That the Big Ten, the most powerful conference in the country, has let this happen this long is a real fucking mystery.

Just say no. Put a stop to it.

Indianapolis has a nice, big stadium with a retractable roof. I'm sorry might be cold weather outside but holy fuck deal with it.

EDIT: I don't understand how, during all of the negotiations, the Big Ten doesn't say "actually, one of those CFP games is gonna be up here somewhere every year, and that's that." I also don't get how they let the Rose Bowl be played in Los Angeles against a Pac 12 team every single year either but they have!

I’ve moved past this game and have somehow ended up backwards and angry about the UM game all over again… where was that gameplan against Michigan? I know we still likely have to go through Georgia for the ship, but I’d love to know what the timeline where we start with TCU looks like and actually neutral sites.

Urban Meyer wins that game 10/10 times.

I think Urban just built more contingencies into his offense. Xavier Johnson would probably had a solid package all season and it would be something they could turn to if they needed. I think by the 4th quarter they had used up everything they had for Xavier Johnson and he was just a 3rd receiver.

After using Trayanum so much in the Michigan game, I don't think he even got into this game on offense. Day needs to figure out a better pecking order of his playmakers and what he can turn to when players get injured.

That fucking sucks. Overturned flag that would have essentially ended the game on the Harrison hit. Day having balls to fake the punt and then losing them after Kirby calls a TO. Ransom. Rossi. Just devastating mistakes. Stop short on the 4th and they overturn it. Stover hurt. Harrison hurt.

Fuck.

They really need to make pick the locations of each playoff game to make it as neutral as possible with the options. Georgia getting a home game shouldn't have happen. Send Ohio State and Georgia to Arizona for the Fiesta bowl and TCU/Michigan to Georgia would have been two neutral sites.

Saw this comment but good lord man our DBs really have no instinct. How many times did Hickman just totally fail to figure out where the crosser was coming from?

Stetson would make the throw, and Hickman would have been able to make a play on the ball if only he actually read the flight of the ball and had some awareness. Instead, his first instinct is just to keep running backwards while the crosser cuts right in front of him.

Buckeyes really got fucked on that no targeting call. Numerous others. Georgia is good though. Hats off to them, made the plays they needed to make.

I thought we won after CJ’s run and still having plenty of time and TOs. To shit themselves utterly after that…

This one stings.

My first thought postgame after the final sequence was "where the fuck was Xavier Johnson on that set of downs?"

That guy was getting 5+ yards with every handoff. That was a situation where we NEEDED those yards.

Fuck, man. Idk. It's easy to second guess some of those late playcalls, but sometimes shit just happens.

If I'm upset with anyone from OSUs side it's Jim Knowles. He better have some answers next season or he gone.

It was the right call though. The one in the TCU/Michigan was far worse and it wasn’t even called.
A play which resulted in a head injuring, the ref was five yards away and immediately threw a flag, and upon replay showed a defender launching both feet off the ground making contact with his helmet to the receivers head was the right call?

I’ll be honest, I’ve lost track of what targeting is or is not.

I’ve also lost track of the burden of proof here.

Like if the ref thinks it is targeting in real time, I feel like the overturn must be indisputable.

The Harrison hit was close enough that I feel like the play stands……but much like the Michigan game, refs seem to be considering context now for some unknown reason.

Oh, well if we call this, Michigan has another chance to win…..and the game is basically over, so we’ll just not call it.

Oh, well if we call this, then Georgia basically loses, so we’ll just not call it.

They really need an officiating overhaul at this level. Just a lot of bad in both games to me.

Targeting is, has been, and will forever be random. Put on a blindfold and throw a dart at the wall and see where it lands.

OSU has been fucked royally on targeting so many times I've lost count. I just assume it will happen at this point. I knew they were going to pickup that flag up.

That was, unquestionably, the play of the game and it was obvious in that very moment. Knocked out our best player and took 4 points off the board by picking up the flag.
