I mean no offense but @DickyLeftridge take a step back from talking in major league thread for a moment and let this argument pass... focus on minor leagues and the draft coming up ya know?

First off, track record says Straw should be able to right the ship and majority of the posters believe that. He does have a long leash, but I do expect if he keeps struggling to get his playing time as a starter cut. Let's see how he recovers from this rough time. It's a very good test for us to see if Straw can be a starter or a 4th guy long term...

Secondly, put @AZ_ on ignore and AZ kind of do the same. You two will never ever see eye to eye and for the rest of us, it's best you ignore each other...
Both sides! :chuckle:

Dicky would've loved Stinky P back in 2015 around here

If the team makes "a trade or three" or makes "some promotions" then they'll be exactly in alignment with what I'm saying. Hell, I only ask for one fucking move because the need is pretty glaring, right now. So, any such complaint or concern about when they're going to do things you say are inevitable is considered "whining, bitching, and bed-wetting"? Fuck off.

No wonder this discussion was so dead for so long, with people reacting the way you do.
ETA: @ CDAV45, nobody else.
The point was many want them to abandon their plan to appease their need for results now while disregarding a big reason they are a valid AL Central contender. There's a ton of talent coming and if you believe what CA has said then that would lead one to believe that they probably won't block their best prospects. Hell, maybe Antonetti and Chernoff cave in to the demands of the all knowing on this board and trade away their top prospects to appease those who are shouting from the mountain top.

The whining and bitching comment wasn't directed at you persay, but I'll "fuck off" anyway and you can do the same tough guy.

Not 100% surprised, but he is a purely AAAA pitcher
yep - tho I had no idea if he would be claimed (I guess that means he could bounce back to us under the "mercado option")

still - kudos to anyone who makes it to the league, if even for a cuppa

We also are a bit spoiled, so a guy like McCarty could probably do alright for a team who just needs pitching. He is going to be a journeyman guy who just goes to teams that need more pitching...

Yeah, and the fact he has stayed with it as welll...

Hey, bubs.

ELE.

They're like feral cats.. you feed them.. they keep coming back..and then you have little baby trolls all over the place.. The humane society will only take just so many...
Has absolutely nothing to do with your so called trolls. They happen to think differently than the self proclaimed baseball gods here like AZ. This is a sports board. People like Dicky Leftwhich have every right to state what this ream should do. Instead of pounding away, how about acknowledging and then moving along. As per usual. the board was doing just fine until AZ and his side kick Rafters stuck their noses back in here.

I'm thinking Karinchak is best used in low-leverage situations.

Not to step on any toes.

There's nothing wrong with having a different opinion.

There's something wrong when you're a condescending asshole and attacking everyone.

You can execute item A without delving into item B.

Remember, this is the first post that starts the avalanche of garbage:
I hate these posts that are premised on the idea that roster spots are hard to come by. We've got 4 roster spots tied up in Luke Maile, Sandy Leon, Myles Straw, and Oscar Mercado. Are you kidding me? The idea that any decision we make must navigate a number crunch for roster spots is literally preposterous.

Every player I just named should have been waived yesterday. I'm sure you will tell me that Straw has 5 years guaranteed at $25 million. Before you tell me that, however, you have to admit that was the worst FA signing for this franchise since Nick Swisher. Because if you can't admit that first, you clearly aren't unbiased enough to discuss the issue further. Then, only once you have admitted that threshold point, you need to tell us how many of those 5 years we must endure before we simply admit the obvious--it was a mistake. That's OK. Everyone makes them. But don't compound this mistake by clinging to this JAG any longer than you have to. He is Leonys Martin. Buy Straw out, package him with one of our elite young players like a Nolan Jones to a team willing to take on the contract like they do in the NBA/NFL as a salary dump, DFA him. I don't care what you do. But he is atrocious.

Finally, I just hope this franchise isn't burden by this board's prevailing sentiment that what must be done eventually should not be done immediately. You don't need to wait 4 more weeks or 2 more weeks or 2 more games to promote Naylor or Benson/Brennan or Freeman/Jones. We were tied for the division lead like a week ago. Now we're 3.5 games back. Turn around this slide by injecting some life into this clubhouse (life it has sorely lacked since our last rookie to come up, OGOATZ got injured mind you) and purge the roster of the underperforming garbage while you still have a chance. We'll be out of the hunt by the time we wait until whatever BS arbitrary deadline you had in your mind for the next waive of rookies to be "ready."
He makes up arguments that nobody else is making and attributes them to people constantly, while speaking in bullshit absolutes that are just false.

If his take were "Hey, I think Straw is a negative asset and we should move off of him immediately" then I don't think any of the last 8 pages would've happened.

But, that's not his take--because that's never his take. It's "everyone is so fucking stupid, I'm fucking brilliant, and if you don't agree with the most insane points I can come up with, you clearly are stupid and biased and out to get me."

It's moronic. It's childish. Ideally, it should be addressed.

Lighten up Francis...

Cry about it.

I have no pity for shitposters who intentionally post dumb things and somehow believe they’re entitled to respect.

The people who call players “piece of shit,” yet embody being a piece of shit worse than anything those guys will do on field.
