2022 College Football Season/Playoff Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I watched the Manti Teo Netflix doc with my fake son yesterday. 10 years later and it still makes no sense.

Hate on Nick Saban all you want, but his coaching tree makes Popovich blush.

Can anyone really like… hate on Saban? :chuckle:

I just hate that they kick the shit out of anyone in their path. :blue: It gets old (with the SEC in general), but other schools need to step up and hire competent coaching to compete.

Saban is a great coach who runs a great program, but the sport itself that lends to his dominance. The best teams attract the best recruits and make the most money to improve their facilities. There is less of a level playing field.

Of course, it’s the same reason Ohio State can be so dominant within our conference, so to hate on Saban would just be jealousy that we aren’t the top dog program.

Yeah, this has long been an occurring theme in the SEC. They also love playing FCS schools in Week 11.
It really is master schedule manipulation by Saban.

- A few years ahead, schedule an opening game at a neutral southern site against a traditionally average to above average team who has a better than average chance of being ranked to start the season (Duke, Miami, Virginia Tech)

- When that team inevitably finishes 8-and-4 or worse, they can look back and say “They were ranked at the time!”

- Play your yearly FCS school week 9 or later

- NEVER schedule any non-neutral away games more than once every five years, and make zero of them north of Kentucky
