2022 Minor League Week 02 Games Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Ike “I’m not Tyler” Freeman homers, Clippers up 11-5. Freeman’s 2nd bomb of the game. He also has an error, filling up the scoresheet like Noel did earlier! Lol!

Noel a homer and two errors. Filled up the stat sheet!
That swing didn't look like there was much effort in it either. He's got some punch for sure so it will be interesting to watch him continue his development.

I also noticed that Tena is at SS and Rocchio at 2B again. Are they alternating them?

Nice outings from Lenny Torres, Logan T Allen and Rodney Boone tonight!

The split will favor Rocchio at SS over time as long as they are at the same level. 3 to 4 out of every 5 or so

Mostly watched Akron tonight but then pulled up Lynchburg and split screened them while doing paperwork. Accidentally put a post in the wrong thread but Durango is next level fast. Tonight he turned a questionable double into an easy one and then while it might have been slightly assisted by the pitcher he stole third and about beat the ball to the plate.

Joe Naranjo with a pretty strong start to the year.

6 XBH already, including three homers.

Curious how real the org thinks he is, still very young and firmly planted in the 3-spot at Lake County.

Arrow pointing upward.

Where did he come from. Draft or young international signing a few years back?

He was a 2019 Rd 3 draft pick as HSer. Thus, he played in rookie ARZ league in 19 and COVID in 2020. He got a big promotion in 2021 to LC (A+) and struggled. This year, he is repeating like Naylor in AA and is still listed as 20 yr old which along with many of our other top prospects there Noel, Gabriel, ... thus is still young. Yet, as any prospect who struggles in first year or two, they drop off the prospect list radar.

coming into this year.. purely system roster filler.. as that's all he's shown.. at the start of the 2022 season, he's showing a bit more.. What I remember is he's a odd looking dude.. kind of all legs.. shortish arms make his a small target for a 1B.. Didn't seem to run too well.. not so slow he'd be timed with a sun dial.. but in that direction.. Didn't particularly impress with hands, feet and glove around first base.. Seemed like he got "put there" because there's no where else to play him.. He might have been a below slot signing for others to get signed.. It's nice to see his start to the 2022 season..
