2022 Minor League Week 02 Games Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Akron up 8-0 in bottom of 4th. Espino no hits, 3 walks, 7 K’s through 4.

Been watching ... Espino has had a few 98 mph and at least one 99. 96-97 constantly. He struck out the side in 3rd and 4th (but one got on as he spiked a breaking ball for drop 3rd). Just pulled (pitch count)....

Also, was watching Columbus on my computer and Arias had a towering HR ... he won't be in Columbus by mid-summer. He is huge.

Full grown MEN among boyz...

Looking at LC and Nikhazy had a rough first inning (2 ER and pulled after that). But, Mace had a strong 2nd game -- 4 inn 1 hit 2 BB and 7Ks. Then LC relievers let in 2 runs on no hits and 3 walks ... go figure.

Joe Naranjo with a pretty strong start to the year.

6 XBH already, including three homers.

Curious how real the org thinks he is, still very young and firmly planted in the 3-spot at Lake County.

Arrow pointing upward.
This years Tena?

Have to remember: CLE has a practice of removing pitchers in the minors if they have 30+ pitches in an inning.
IIRC Nikhazy has 36 in the 1st inning of gm 1 today..

With the recent track record of developing arms, I cant argue against that practice..

Saturday game updates:

AA Akron wins gm 1 of the DH 11-0
High A Lake County drops both games in its DH: 4-3 then 2-1

AAA Columbus leads 6-0 in the bottom of the 5th.
Low A Lynchburg plays later

He also hit a liner 1/2 way up the wall in the 5th .... guy has power that we need. Its a matter of time before Rosario is traded and we call him up.

Can't disagree with this comment.. of course.. it would be trading away a front line player for someone who might be able to help in the future.. and WE ALL KNOW THAT'S NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN!!.. smh..

I am all for moving Rosario to 2nd ... then you can have Miller at 1st and Naylor/Mercado in RF ... yet that isn't going to happen either.

Arias has only played 11 games at 2nd and surprisingly Rosario hasn't played one game there (even in minors). With Freeman coming back soon, don't see Arias getting moved around.

Espino will be pitching in Cleveland's rotation sometime next season. Thing is Williams already looks like he's too much for A+ hitters and might need moved to Akron soon. God willing they stay healthy, but can you imagine the rotation is 2 yrs?

Arias will be up within a month or so. I also feel that OGon needs to be given an opportunity while he's hot and before Valera forces his way onto the scene. If Arias and OGon get promoted and the floor doesn't fall out from underneath them then this team instantly gets better IMO. I said it on another threads, but I'd rather get them exposed this season instead of waiting until next. Arias is already on the 40 man and there are a couple that could be DFA'd to make room for Oscar. They might fail miserably, but at least they'd get some exposure and both have options.
