How did Meatloaf put it... 2 out of 3 ain't bad??? Well I guess. If you score the same number of runs as the opponent over 24 games, but win 16 of the 24 contests that is pretty good in my book. Onto the Week 7 games and all the CLE affiliates are on the road this week.

AAA: Columbus (24-12) visits Iowa (19-16, Chicago Cubs affiliate)
AA: Akron (18-15) visits Binghamton (11-21, NY Mets affiliate)
High A: Lake County (14-18) visits Cedar Rapids (24-9, Minnesota affiliate)
Low A: Lynchburg (17-15) visits Salem (17-16, Boston affiliate)

For those interested,

"Select Minor League games will be available to stream for free on MLB.TV this season, meaning you can watch some of the game’s top prospects at no cost. And if you like what you see there, all available Minor League games are streamed on MiLB.TV, and you can add that to an existing MLB.TV subscription for only $25.

Here's the Minor League slate for this week:
Tuesday, 11:05 a.m. ET – Akron RubberDucks (CLE) @ Binghamton Rumble Ponies (NYM)
The first game of the week is a star-studded one with a half-dozen Top 100 Prospects dotting the rosters of the RubberDucks and Rumble Ponies for a six-game stretch from Binghamton’s Mirabito Stadium. On the home side, Mets prospects Francisco Álvarez (MLB’s No. 10 overall), Brett Baty (No. 26) and Ronny Mauricio (No. 76) lead a talent-rich Double-A Binghamton lineup. In the opposing dugout, Guardians prospects George Valera (No. 45), Daniel Espino (No. 51, though he's been out of action since April 29), Brayan Rocchio (No. 82) and the Akron RubberDucks look to play spoiler in the only series meeting of the regular season scheduled between these two teams."

Also,

Curry was damn stellar today and was facing the the Mets top 3 prospects (Alvarez, Baty, Mauricio). Is MLB.tv free game of the day so nice to watch on the real TV without having to airplay through the phone app which can get glitchy. Really just had a mistake to Mauricio for a homerun. the first time through and then struck him out the next two times. I'd have to assume he's done for the day.

EDIT - He's not. Out there in the 5th starting at 80 pitches.

5-2/3 inning - 2 runs 1 ER ... 1 BB and 10ks ... Heard from announcers that he sat 92-93 most of game and topped at 94.

I forgot that Burns is out ... But, just imagine facing them in a DH (be a fun Sunday next time). Espino, Williams, Allen Jr, Curry and Gaddis ... If Burns was in there, that is 4 of our top 12 prospects with Curry and Gaddis (again I say bound for the bullpen -- just no room with Espino and Williams kind of claiming 2 of 5 spots by start of 2024.

Thanks for the update. Good to see Rocchio back in action as well.

After a horrible start, non-prospect Micah Pries has played much better lately.

Also - Noah Naylor - quite the turn around from last season. He looked pretty doomed to me, and has rebounded nicely.. If he can ever tap into his hit/power tool consistently he is right back in that top prospect mix.

Don't forget about Cantillo who has been looking fantastic. I'd guess Gaddis would be the one to take a back seat in this staff. I have no idea what they would do if Burns was not injured. If Bibee continues to dominate A+ hitters how in the hell are they going to promote him? Good Lord! I've never seen so much top shelf SP in my life.

Edited to say that I'd guess a couple of the organizational guys in Columbus are real close to looking for work.

@BimboColesHair

Bimbo, is there a chance that Bibee skips AA when it comes time to promote him? He is a little older and a college arm so if they were going to be aggressive with anyone he might fit the bill.

This is why this team needs to make a blockbuster trade to shore up their line up of banjo hitters. Bieber was offered a boatload and he turned it down. The team could pry loose a blue chip primo catcher for him.

How about this. Bieber, Rosario, Miller and either Cavale or Plesac for Cedrick Mullins and Adley Rutschman, the number 1 overall pick last year? All Star catcher, all star right fielder, a perrenial MP candidate at third and a rotation that will not suffer one bit. As for Miller, one way or another, I believe second base has Tyler Freeman's name written all over it.

That doesn't make sense for either team honestly. Guardians don't want to give up Miller, Bieber and Plesac if we are trying to compete this season. Also Mullins is coming back down to earth compared to last season...

I'm not sure they need a "blue chip primo catcher" TBH. They just need to move on from Hedges yesterday. Lavastida has been a very good hitter and he's becoming a good backstop too. Not on Hedges level defensively, but very few are. Maile is doing a pretty good job with his limited time. Maybe we'd be better off with him behind the dish most of the time while Lavastida is finishing his minor league career?

All of our trade ideas matter little if the teams we imagine trading with are not interested in dealing what we want. In your case, the Orioles aren't going to trade Rutschman for anything. They already have good SP depth and their best prospect(arguably the best SP prospect in baseball) is damn near ready. Actually a few of their best SP prospects are either in AAA or AA. They're going to make some noise when Rodriguez, Rutschman and Hall are promoted. Look out for Stowers too. Their future looks bright, but it should because they've sucked for more than a decade. If I'm dealing with Baltimore it will be for Hays and I'm not confident he's available with the way he's been playing over the last year.

Tyler Freeman will be dealt at some point unless all of Gimenez, Miller, Rocchio, Tena and Martinez tank. Even if that depth didn't exist I doubt he could unseat Miller from 2B. Miller's hit tool is more well rounded than Freeman's and always has been. Damn good prospect for sure, but he's not needed.

I typically don't even entertain extensive Bieber trade talks, but I will say this. If this team goes into the AS break well below .500 it wouldn't surprise me if they deal him. There's just so much SP depth and if it remains healthy there will be a logjam. The same can be said for the MIF.

I completely disagree with your assessment on Miller over Freeman. Freeman was the number one prospect for the team until he tore his labrum. I have nothing against Miller either. I just think Freeman will find his way to the big league club sooner than later. As for Bieber, he's made it clear to management he wants no part of a Cleveland discount. Every day that goes by reduces his trade value. And as you say, with what is coming the team can easily afford to let him go. Obviously the return needs to be and should be significant.

It makes plenty of sense from the Indians perspective. Maybe not so much from the Oriopes side of things. I can remember the day when Joe Carter was dealt for Sandy and Baerga, A trade that provided the tribe with a great catcher finalizing the Indians powerful 90's teams. This team desparately needs an upgrade at that position. Will never win with what they have back there now.
