If he can play some CF then that's fine, but don't we have a plethora of others that can do the same thing? He's not moving around. They'll move Miller to a corner OF spot before they use Freeman there and he sure as hell isn't playing 1B. Freeman doesn't have the arm for the left side of the IF.As long as Freeman is in the Cleveland organization, they will find a way to get him on the field regardless of position. He is likely a 2B that can fill in elsewhere, but with our 2B/SS/3B crew, filling him in the OF and 1B on paper makes some sense. I don't see him playing 3B much because he isn't supposed to have a strong arm.
Now, that being said, I can see both ways with Freeman, I think his bat is legit, and we should keep him since he should be a solid pro. That being stated, he has a very good chance of being a big leaguer so his value in a trade is very good as well...
What can we get for him and Tena plus a SP prospect? I would think we could get a missing piece so I'd like to keep him, but if we get that all-star RF for him, then I am okay with that as well...
If Freeman is going to be the Guardians' 2B going forward then they'll have to deal a couple of other guys and that could happen even though I highly doubt it will.
I have no ideas what type of trade proposals they have or will make, or what kind of value Freeman adds to the trade. I can't help but think that a team like Baltimore could use Freeman and that he would fit in fantastically with their needs and window. Other than that I know nothing.
