2022 NBA Draft Safari

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Totally fair and I think I fall in between your and IBWT's assessment. Agbaji's median expectation value likely ends up a solid starter ala 09 Courtney Lee. Not a bad player by any means.

We need to be aiming higher than Courtney Lee in this draft!

Cool video on second round prospect for 39 max Christie . If they keep the pick this is someone worth consideration if he is still on the board

I've been a big fan of Max Christie since his senior year. Despite having a pretty disappointing season, everything I've heard is he'll be gone in the 20s (very surprised to keep hearing that). If he's there at 39, I'm *making* Koby (Gansey?) take him, though.

If he is still around in the late 20s or early 30s a trade up is somewhat realistic. Could def use another year in college but he could be a much better player once his body fills out. It seems like the competition was also a huge jump from his hs, which is why he did not dominate like some expected.

The fun part about this draft is we’re going to all debate on who we should grab at most likely at 14….. But in reality our best players are all so young with major growth potential still left, not to mention what will a fully healthy squad look like, I’m not going to care who we take, and just trust the powers to be…….

Really hoping some PGs and Centers get get drafted in the top13. Once you get out of the consensus top6-8 picks, teams do historically begin to draft on positional need even if it means drafting someone higher than most mocks/other teams boards have them.

Would love for team to fall in love with Jalen Duren, Mark Williams, Walker Kessler, TyTy Washington or even a Kennedy William/Jean Montero type.

Anything that presents us with the most options of SG/SF/Wing/Big Wing when we draft at 14

I think I'm at the point where my top 2 options at the 14ish range are Tari Eason and Dyson Daniels, just not quite sure what order they go in.

No way he lasts to 14. He has measurables, athleticism and look at him score over a broom. Someone will love his profile in the 8-12 range

I am, BY NO MEANS, comparing them as prospects, but that video is giving me flashbacks to Yi Jianlian with those dudes in pennies and foam paddles playing "defense" for the bulk of it...

I'm there as well for some time now, with a lucky jump for Jabari Smith being number 1 option in my dream world.

But them three is who I want. Unfortunately Im quite sure none of them will last to 14.

If we can draft Tari Eason at 14 I'll be beyond happy. It would be huge.

I think I agree, but it's a numbers game.

Assume chet, jabari, Paolo, and Ivey are guaranteed gone.

AJG, Murray, Mathurin are extremely likely to be gone as well.

I'd expect Duren to be gone.

Johnny Davis seems to be gone as well, although he might be a faller.

That's already 9 guys probably off the board, leaving a whole bunch of prospects like

Sochan, branham, Daniels, Eason, Dieng, mark Williams, Agbaji, TyTy, etc etc.

Hopefully Mark Williams goes to a C needy team (hello Charlotte!). If another team goes for one of the guards, and Sochan also gets picked for upside, then we are guaranteed at least one of Daniels/Eason.

Way too early to speculate, but it's possible.

AJ Griffin fits the Cavz needs the most in this draft.

One thing I don't quite see... Is there a case for Ochai Agbaji being a good defender aside from decent wing size and plus athleticism?

Statistically it doesn't look great. Low stocks, the DRTG is slightly better with him off (probably low sample size because he played 35 mpg as a senior), average rebounding.

And then with the eye test, it seemed to me (could be wrong, I haven't watched Kansas a ton or anything) like Braun was the Kansas choice to put on the top perimeter threat on the other team. Could anyone that watches a lot of college ball verify if this is true (@RchfldCavRaised ?)

Was that just because they wanted Ochai focusing on offense or because Braun is legitimately a better perimeter defender? I'd love to hear the Kansas coaches answer that one honestly.
