2022 NBA Draft Safari

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Taking a look at some measurements for the guard prospects: Daniels is built like a wing, Washington measured out well and Chandler is really small..

Height w/shoes - Standing reach - Wingspan - Weight

Daniels: 6’7.5”, 8’9”, 6’10.75 (213)
--
Dylan Windler: 6’7.5”, 8’8.5", 6’10” (195)
Joe Ingles: 6’8.25”, 8’9”, 6’10.25” (209)
Shabazz Muhammad: 6’6.25”, 8’8.5”, 6’11” (221)
Chris Middleton: 6’8.25”, 8’7”, 6’10.75” (216)
Tobias Harris: 6’7.76”, 8’7.5”, 6’11” (222)

Washington: 6’3.75, 8’3.5”, 6’8” (196)
--
Russell Westbrook: 6’3.5”, 8’4”, 6’7.75” (192)
Gary Payton II: 6’3”, 8’3.5”, 6’8” (183)
Bradley Beal: 6’4.75”, 8’4”, 6’8” (201)

Chandler: 6’0.5”, 8’1”, 6’5.25” (172)
--
Tyus Jones: 6’2”, 8’1”, 6’5” (184)
Trey Burke: 6’1.25”, 8’1.5”, 6’6.5” (187)

Daniels best comparison is oddly another Australian in Joe Ingles.. If you notice, all his close comps are wing players and I included Middleton and Harris in there just to showcase how long/big Daniels actually is and his likely versatility 1-4...

Washington oddly enough measured out super close to a young Westbrook... Obvious different athletic talents but he should easily be able to play in two point guard lineups with some additional weight gain..

Chandler is a big loser with just how small and light he is on top of his average measurements.. I think you can drop him off the 14 list...
I comped Daniels to Klay a couple of times just because of their size and the way they use good positioning and quick feet to contain smaller guards, but Klay came in at 6'7.25" in shoes and a 6'9" wingspan. The fact that he's legitimately that big while being a capable ball handler and quick enough to defend wings is really enticing.

Iggy? Andre was that big, long, versatile guy who had some secondary creation flash.

Curious to see how Daniels tests athletically.

If he puts up some plus athletic numbers, it seems pretty easy to envision him as that Iggy type on this team, which would be an absolute perfect fit personnel wise.

Funny you say that...

Definitely fits the eye test. He may not be explosive vertically but he's laterally very quick.

Eason has the biggest hand width in the entire combine (11") and third highest in hand length (9.25"). Goodness gracious. Kawhi, notorious for his claws, measured at 11.25" hand width and 9.75" hand length.

Leonard Miller's measurements are pretty wild.

I can see that a little bit actually. Just didn't occur to me at first because Iggy isn't as big but also way more solid and a freak athlete.

Just watch these two videos and tell me you can't see some similarities with the way they can stay attached to the hip on a drive so they're in position for their size and length to come into play for contests.

Big difference seems to be that Daniels may have the hands Klay never had, because from what I've seen his weakside gambles and strips are pretty elite.

When talking about 39 there are also a few guys who were top20 recruits, tabbed by USA Basketball or their native countries interatiinak Olympics pipeline organization but has disappointing freshman years.

Speaking mainly about Patrick Baldwin, Jr. Peyton Watson, and Caleb Houstan

Patrick Baldwin is someone I would love Cavaliers to get at 39 if he somehow falls that far. I think a team at the end of the first will take him and gamble on his upside and his year at Milwaukee being a fluke.

Yeah of those three I just mentioned I think PBJ is the one most likely to still go in the first round

Im not sure what to make of some of these mocks I have seen. Eason seems like a no-brainer top 10 guy to me and almost everyone has him in the 15-18 range. I think the wildest rankings I have seen are Hollingers. His 10-20 is extremely wild (Minnot - 10, Blake Wesley - 11, Lildell - 17, Larivia -20).

Dont see it with Branham. If we want a pure shooter that can't defend, just go get Duncan Robinson, dont waste the pick.

Holy shit at Mark Williams' measurements.

I watched Duke all season and had no idea he was that huge.

He just did the Cavs a huge solid. He's going to push one of those six wings down to us.

I get the thinking that Charlotte has 13 and 15, so if he's there at 13 -- might as well just pick him at 15. But if they try to get cute with it, the Cavs can always take Williams and either trade back a few spots or hold Charlotte hostage and demand an asset from them. I don't think they'll risk it.

One (maybe even two) of Sochan, Eason, Daniels, Griffin, Dieng, or Mathurin will be there for us at 14.

I just love how you equate Williams' length, something he cannot control, as doing the Cavs a favor. :chuckle:

Just looking around at data....and seeing how Daniels tested, measured and performed as an 18 year old........it is tough not to wonder if we should just sell the farm for him. :chuckle:

When looking at this through the lens of pro production for Daniels, there's just a lot of momentum that he is one of the better SG prospects in some time.

Another super impressive measurement... Probably means he will be gone before 39 damn it.

Jalen Williams' measurements super good too. I expect he will be one of the bigger risers come draft day.

Its pretty obvious that all teams are going to be required to have a Jalen/Jalyn in the future to win a championship, really would love to see Jalen Williams fall to us in the 2nd round.
