2022 NBA Draft Safari

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Its pretty obvious that all teams are going to be required to have a Jalen/Jalyn in the future to win a championship, really would love to see Jalen Williams fall to us in the 2nd round.
I highly doubt he is going to be available by 39. He is rising up boards now and is almost certain to be a mid first rounder. I wouldn't be that surprised to see him go late lottery

Just looking around at data....and seeing how Daniels both tested, measured and performed as an 18 year old........it is tough not to wonder if we should just sell the farm for him. :chuckle:

When looking at this through the lens of pro production for Daniels, there's just a lot of momentum that he is one of the better SG prospects in some time.

All right IWD, I think I'm sold on Daniels after our little discussion. I'm all in on him now as our #1 choice. Problem is, he's the least likely to be there out of the possible choices imo.

While Daniels possesses the size and defensive ability that’s intriguing, does he address either of the Cavs greatest needs, shooting and playmaking?

Safe to say shooting is not likely, and not sure he’ll ever be more than a passable shooter…

Playmaking it seems like there’s some skill there but is there enough to be a lead guard off the bench?

Daniels seems like a Spurs pick, but could also see the Knicks being intrigued with the fit as well.. Either way, I think it’s safe to say Daniels is likely gone by 14..

I love what I see. 3 level scorer, who can playmake as a secondary/tertiary creator and at the same time be a really good shooter off the ball.

I'm think those strengths are going to make a playoff team picking after the lottery take a chance on him.

Although legitimate concerns, like the level of competition and thus just how limited is he athletically, plus the slower release, maybe could keep him sliding to where we could scoop him up. That would be great.

My biggest issue with Daniels is the shooting.

We just saw a statistical comparison to Klay…who will be a hall of famed because of his jumpshot. And yes he was an elite defender for years too…but it’s the jump shot man.

We just need shooting so bad. Which is why Ochai continues to be my favorite prospect. Eason is getting there but if Agbaji is an site shooter and only an average defender(I think he can be better than that though)…that’s so much more important for this team right now given the bigs we have back there.

I think I mentioned him a ways back but Lewis was one of the guys who stood out in the 2nd round range.

His good tape is pretty appealing. If he can put it together he can be great value. His downside is his Lack of consistency.

His now elite size, defense and playmaking as a taller guard definitely make you think... Put him as the 2 guard next to Garland and suddenly the Frobley backline gets an amazing perimeter stopper who would also be the perfect compliment to our smaller guards.

We were joking earlier in the year about putting Eason at the 3 and Daniels at the 2 just to see how ridiculous the defense could get. But after seeing his final athletic profile... I'm starting to honeslty be considering it.

It feels like a chance to get the ideal fit staring you in the face, which doesn't come around often.

What would you guys give up for him in a trade up? Could we get a pick in the 6-10 range to take him and someone like Tari at the 14?

To be fair... that was just his on-ball defense, and I think (and the numbers probably bear it out? @I'mWithDan ) that Daniels ceiling on defense is probably significantly higher. He's a bit bigger for one, which can't be discounted. But beyond this, he shows the hands to potentially be an elite steals and deflection guy and some intriguing rim protection flashes on the weakside and in transition. He's also a pretty impressive rebounder for a guard.

There isn't THAT much in common with him and Klay as they approach the game in completely different ways. I'm also pretty confident that Daniels sees the game at a high level and a bit like Mobley, will be good at making the right play and the extra pass immediately. Considering how our offense fell apart because our 2 and 3 couldn't playmake against a scrambling defense, I definitely see a role for him now and moving forwards.

I'm not sure how you get a top 10 pick and keep #14 without Allen being part of that trade.

I believe another factor in our pick this year is the contract that LeVert/ Sexton could demand if both looking for future hefty pay days, a shooting guard could easily be in play…….One of my favorites maybe a slight trade down is Jalen Williams I really like his game….
