2022 Season Series #26 | Guardians @ Tigers | July 4-6, 2022

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The bright side for me is that we won't be tempted to throw away assets for rentals at the deadline

Well apparently you have not paid attention to Straw's career.
He is a career .249 hitter with a career OPS of .644 which puts him in the career below average (barely above Poor) range.
This season every metric has him at poor.
So yeah I will continue to hold out for him to improve to below average and remain excited.
Yes Jose went thru a ridiculously long slump but he had already had previous seasons that showed he was an above average to very good MLB hitter. Straw does not have that going for him and likely never will
Nobody is saying Straw will become an above average offensive producer.

If that's your expectation, I'm not sure what to tell you.

We're expecting elite defense, good speed, and then an on base percentage above .333

Hey, I'm on your side on the Straw discussion.
There are no sides.

Facts reign supreme. Myles fucking loves donuts. I'm getting him a bagel pack when he comes home. His normal breakfast food is cheerios. When his friends go skiing, he's the guy in the inner tube.

(Also, my daughter just turned 1 and I'm never going to get the number of the day or letter of the day songs out of my head. So, embrace it. It's here! *clap* *clap*....)

Congratulations man!

Why does this team have so much trouble with the Tigers?

I think we were expecting an OBP of .333(or more) and THEN elite defense. He is one of the best in center...and of course good base running and steals.

I thought he had a chance of the best season he ever had early on. Now it's turning into his worst.

Hope he can bounce back soon, we could use it ASAP.

Familiarity. If you go watch a magician enough times, you start to figure out how they do their tricks. That, and the Gs pitchers haven't been the same since the league clamped down on performance enhancing substances.

Congrats on the little one. Puts perspective on how little these forums really mean in life.
