You're putting words in my mouth, that's not what I said at all. If the overall stats are bad though it means it's more statistically likely that there is some individual problem(s) within the overall grouping, not the EVERYONE IS BAD straw man. So don't lecture me on "reasonable conclusions" based on "statistics" simply by shooting down something that was never said.How is it even something to keep an eye on though? What reason could we possibly have to suspect that all of our pitchers are suddenly incompetent this year and will all fall off a cliff? How is that statistically possible? The only reasonable conclusion to reach from your data is that it doesn't matter.
OR we are going to see something that is unprecedented in the history of major league baseball. Which seems more likely?
I'm not saying this is something to be weighted heavily at all but can we try seeing it through something that isn't complete black-and-white thinking?
Put more simply, if 5 people are struggling in limited samples, what is the chance that at least one of them has a problem? 4 of them may be fine, but one of them may struggle, who knows...
