2024 Cleveland Browns Off-Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Ford and Moore will be here for sure.
Ford to me is a third back which will still make the roster but didnt address that far the depth chart..
Moore I plum forgot.
Thank u

The Browns have been pretty bad all year when they have had to switch to a more zone based team, and they were murdered by crosses in man.

Next year, a priority focus is learning a change up to our super hot fastball. Because no matter how good our man defense is, it can be schemed against by the right opponent.

That being said, credit to the Texans and CJ. They took the Stafford game plan the Rams put out there and did it with lesser talent. That's some crazy shit. Add into that the Browns penchant for turning the ball over, and it was lights out.

Some things must improve next year. The defense definitely needs to learn another move, and the offense needs a shred of luck injury wise

I think a good starting point for the offense next year would be obviously some injury luck, but also perhaps not leading the NFL in turnovers. :chuckle:

Having to use 5 quarterbacks had a bit to do with the turnovers. The 5 threw 23 interceptions and fumbled 15 times. The rest of the team accounted for 12 fumbles in 17 games.

Yes, we can only assume, but hopefully whatever version of Watson we end up getting is not a turnover machine.

Well its time to focus on the Cavs.
What are the comparisons between the Browns and the Cavs in terms of strengths and weaknesses. I know its comparing pears to pomegranites but nonetheless provides interesting banter.

I have said this for a while now I believe all the Cleveland teams have awesome and smart front offices in place.

Yeah, I’m very concerned about the WR position next year. This might be when we start to truly feel the negative impact of Watson’s contract. Do we try trading up in the draft for someone who could provide some production?
I have it on good authority WR is an they are going to address. Keep an eye on Ridley, Diggs, Higgins, Aiyuk and Mooney.

Worth noting they love Tillman & Bell.

I'm oddly at peace with what happened. Sucked but the injuries & Flacco's age finally screamed uncle. I love the direction of where this franchise is headed and I have full trust in Berry to execute trades/draft to push them over the edge. Couple notes:
  1. The running scheme. Losing Chubb changed philosophy, but I don't think Stump did an effective job (could be because Ford is a backup/JAG who cannot see holes)
  2. The tackles. Will they move Jones to LT, Wills to RT? Trade for a Tackle?
  3. The Guards. Bitonio is still elite but age is creeping up. Teller will most likely be let go
  4. TE. Njoku is a star, Bryant finally had his breakout game but they should look to add someone to better compliment Njoku, as I'd like to see him lean more towards Joker Vs Inline.
  5. Corners/DBs. This group was elite at home and a mess on the road. Emerson is going to be a star, but they might have to make tough decisions on Ward and Newsome (Mitchell could replace him imo). I'm very bullish on Hickman, but they're going to need better safety depth.
  6. Sign JOK to an extension as soon as possible. He is the fulcrum of the defense.
None of this shit matters if Watson's arm isn't healthy. And we won't know until we know.

Can someone explain the cap savings if they cut Teller? Feel like it doesn’t make as much sense as it used to when they restructured his contract in September

And before we start looking at our cap issues, please remember that Burrow's and Lamar's extensions kick in next year as well.

Think this should be pointed out, people are expecting the Bengals to be a powerhouse moving forward, but they are very likely to lose Tee Higgins and they need about a million pieces on defense.

We'll see about the Ravens. I'm of the opinion that they loaded up for this year and next year is the restock period for them. That they are good and healthy bodes well, but they could still fuck it up.

I think Cinci has a lot of work to do:
  • Higgins
  • Boyd
  • Irv Smith
  • Jonah Williams
  • Scharping
  • Reader
  • Awuzie

Ravens are set to lose some key guys (some can be replaced easily, others not so much):
  • OBJ
  • Madubuike (pro bowler, 13 sacks)
  • Agholar
  • Geno Stone (7 INTs)
  • Zeitler (pro bowl snub)
  • Queen (pro bowler)
  • Ya-Sin
  • Clowney (9.5 sacks)
  • Darby
  • Gus Edwards (810/13TDs)
