Florial is on pace for 27HR's over a 150 game season. Just have to have faith in his power and batting eye. Still worried when the book gets out on him if he'll be able to adjust back I mean he's still only hitting 185 right now.

I’d love to clear up some of the MIF we have to trade for a couple pitchers. Me being a jock sniffer, I’d maybe look to trade Rocchio while he has value along with a couple others.

We need an official moniker for the Rocchio crowd too. Let's make this fun as long as the team's winning

The energy of this team is good. The tenacity is noticeable. I’ll give a lot of credit to Vogt and the staff for that. And a lot of credit to the players themselves. Fun team to watch.

My concern in the long term is the starting rotation. Bieber being out hurts quite a lot.

And T-Mac just feels like a countdown clock til surgery. It is a weird vibe with him.

A lot is riding on young arms and they have shown inconsistency (Allen and Bibee).

Will be interesting to see what happens but it will be an interesting year.

He has a HR uppercut swing that misses a lot but hits them far when he connects. He needs to hit enough early to create the belief in the decision makers that he can actually produce at the major league level so that can carry him through the dry spells that will happen.

They are going to need guys like Lively or Parsons to fill a BOR role. The division is still bad so anything close to 90 wins likely gets it done.

Everything in April is overmagnified, both the good and the bad.
I have come to no conclusions about anybody on this roster.

But, here are some things I Think I know:

• Losing Bieber was a TREMENDOUS blow for the team and the organization. Not only does this make the SP thin and inconsistent, but now he is untradeable.
• Freeman certainly looks like he can play CF.
• Whoever plays SS will be passable, but probably not an All-Star level.
• I'm glad Florial has had some good swings lately. But he won't actually improve his game unless he gets consistent playing time. And that's not likely.
• I think trading Clase would be wise. Closers are not usually consistent over multiple seasons unless they are HOF material.

(Side note: Why was Antonetti at the game in Boston last night? Could a major roster move / trade be upcoming?)

Whatever decision is made to open the roster spot for Livrly tonight, a chat will have to take place with someone. In the past an experienced mgr like Tito with others on the phone could handle it. Having a new guy like Vogt as mgr Chris might have decided to sit in& support the conversation. Itsonlyvisble to people like us becuz the team is on the road.

This is a subject area mostly unknown to fans..

The GM or Asst GM are usually the guy(s) that have that conversation.. with the manager in the room. The POBO almost never participates for whatever reason.. It's a "shit part of the job" for a manager to tell a 20-something that they can't play here.. but, part of the job that HAS to be done.. & done regularly..

No easy way to do it.. so do it fast.. lingering is in no one's interest..

Pedro Avila doesn't have any options, so he'll be on the MLB club. Ben Lively has to be added to the roster too.

Don't know much about Avila. Been with SDG during his career. A glance at his stats shows he Ks about 1+ batter per inning, and also plunks about 1 batter per 9.

He's seemed to play sporadically over his career.

Any chance Cookie is dumped, especially when Gavin returns? Probably not, but you never know...

Yeah - 3 months seems excessive IMO. Maybe a month? This will be all I say about this.
