2024 Guardians Regular Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Can we move the Bauer discussions to the Ex Indians thread? And any Kapernick discussions can be had there or a NFL board.

He technically is the best FA SP available... so discussion with signing him makes some sense, but we have some peeps who are a bit too overly passionate about not bringing him in...

I feel like we are going to need SP reinforcements at some point this season. Nikhazy is out for a bit with an oblique injury and the SPs at AAA haven't been putting on good shows... I don't know where TMac ends up at the end of the season as well...

I'd rather go get a Blackburn personally, but A's aren't exactly an easy team to trade with...

If the Guardians lose the ALDS 3-2 and the primary reason is bad starting pitching, are you going to regret not singing Bauer? I really don't see the risk on a 1 year vet minimum deal when you can release him at any time.

I don't know if there's a potential contender in the MLB as desperate for starting pitching as the Guardians.Guardian's. The starters never go past 5 innings lol

No.

Gards have won 8 out 9 series. Can't ask for more than that.

Unthinkable a year ago at this time but the FO should look to trade some bats for arms.
We are cookin' with fish grease my friend, had the same thought as we won this Boston series again.

Keep the focus day to day and just attempt to keep putting together strings of 2-1 series wins. Focus straight onto the day at hand for these younger men and have pitchers at the ready for situational swaps as Steve-Vo has so readily done thus far!

He's been killing it with his utilization of Gaddis, Sandlin, Curry, and Herrrin here thus far. Sidebar but I super love the option of the varied release point of The Sandman from our bullpen. Even as a youth I had an odd affinity for submariner style pitchers or guys with funky deliveries such as his. He's done an exemplary job this season of keeping the ball down in the zone with his breaking pitches on the year!

Some of y’all are insufferable.

The Gs have the best record in the league and Trevor fuckin’ Bauer is what you’re spending time and energy on talking about.

Can we contain that hilariously awful idea to an appropriate thread?

Do you think the starting pitching is good for this team? Is it sustainable to rely on this bullpen to this degree?

This thread has completely lost the plot

This thread is about the 2024 Guardians and we’re talking about (uses Allen Iverson practice voice) Bauer, Kaep and now Aaron Hernandez ?

Get back on track
"Not a game!......"

Brain dead comparison. Comparing the guy to murderer

Comparing men with a history of violent tendencies is absolutely fair — it’s just a matter of perspective and scale. Hernandez is obviously a different case, but it’s ultimately the same reason:

Violent people with untenable personalities have driven themselves out of the league for years.

Not sure what makes Bauer special in the way he’s pissed away his talent.

He deserves all the chances, I guess. He’s a victim.

Well personally I like winning. That's really all that matters in professional sports.

No it isn’t.

And winners know this.

Culture, clubhouse dynamics, coach-ability. These are things that contribute to winning and if you don’t value those things, it’s counter-productive to be to your end goal of winning.

You sound like a guy who wont be accountable for the consequences of actions.

Bauer made his bed, no matter how many excuses or being evasive about the obvious. Or how much crying and exaggerating the problems of the starters on this club.

Whether they need to add pitching isn’t relevant, they’ll pursue various other good options that won’t include Bauer.

Because actions have consequences.

Exaggerating that they rarely pitch into the 6th inning? Or all of them have a 4.5+ ERA?
I'm Bauer's last season the Dodgers won 106 games and made the NLCS. Guess his personality didn't stop them from winning games
