Can anybody explain to me how or why Baltimore thought it would be a good idea to bring Irvin in to pitch in the AL East? The Orioles have 3-4 prospects that are likely better options than Irvin and they need to get them opportunities. This one's a head scratcher for me and are they looking to deal Means?

She left up the 'look at what an asshole he is' tweets even though they got back together?
Naw, she deleted those. Only reason I know is because I was reminded of that situation over the summer and went to go see if anything else happened and they we’re all gone.

He's left handed.. LHH's in the Yankee stadium bandbox is a prescription for a short career.. Generally, a LHP fairs better against LHH's.. Baltimore has no other southpaws..

Means, Hall, Rom, Povich and Akin are all LH.

I'd like to find out where I can send this kid some equipment. I've got bats, balls and gloves that he could use. This is a perfect example of what I told my son who is physically gifted. I told him that it isn't always the most talented kids you see make it, but the ones that make it are always the ones you see outside putting the work in. When I see it I appreciate the motivation, focus and discipline. It makes me want to provide the means for them to get better.

Because they needed an innings eater... You undervalue a guy like Irvin way too much...

Let’s get this guy….

That is old school Rocky sh!t ... using bricks even. But what is up with wearing pads? Man Up ... (sarcasm). Wish him the best and he is going to be a beast blocking the plate but can he hit a 85-90 mph fastball?

They do? How do you know that? What they need in that division is better than average pitching and Irvin is definitely not that. I'm not undervaluing Irvin at all, but you are overvaluing him. He's depth, a BOR SP at best. Baltimore doesn't need anything like that.

Every team needs an innings eater...

They have Means healthy and signed Gibson to go along with an assload of young SP. The Irvin trade makes no sense to me whatsoever unless they intend to deal some.

Edited to say that the only way it makes sense is if they see some type of advantage of having another LHSP in the AL East. That isn't the Yankees, Blue Jays or Rays. They are all RH heavy I believe.

Aka your issue is this... Baltimore sees Irvin as a rotation piece and traded a blocked prospect to get him... They wouldn't have traded for him unless they did... You don't Irvin but like Quantrill, but Baseball Savant ranks the two as a very similar player, hence why BTV has them at similar values. Irvin is the lesser of the two, but an extra year of control, hence why they are worth the same.

You don't get why Baltimore got Irvin, but you get why Cleveland has Quantrill... They have the same purpose...

No, you're wrong again. If Cleveland didn't have Quantrill then I sure as hell wouldn't want them to trade for him at this time because there are numerous talented prospects that need an opportunity. Irvin is no Quantrill either and an extra year of a less valuable player doesn't equate to equal value. Tell me again how accurate BTV has been lately.

Baltimore trading for Irvin 2 yrs ago would have made sense. It doesn't now unless they intend to trade from their SP depth. Especially with all of NY, Toronto and Tampa being predominantly RH.

Thanks for trying to explain to me my "issue", but you're not qualified bud.
