Andre Drummond - LeBron's Robin

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Earth to Ansatooha…the Cavs just suffered their worst loss of the season in the only game Drummond missed.
Our entire starting 5 was out with the exception of Okoro (not sure if he’s even a starter if KPJ doesn’t have his own issues)

I guarantee we still get torched with Drummond out there. The Jazz are by far the best team we’ve played so far except for maybe Indiana (who put a similar whooping on us while Drummond played).

I think it's kind of pointless to complain about Drummond when we haven't had a real starting 5 on the floor basically at all this year. Maybe once that gets sorted we can start evaluating his role.

I think most people agree that Drummond makes us better. It’s more the issue that Drummond over values himself and tries to do too much, and most likely will be looking for a big payday this summer

SexLand was working before the injuries because we had rim protectors behind them (Drummond / Javale) and because Nance and Okoro are very good defensive players. The team does not have gifted two-way players but we do have a good mix of offensive and defensive talent and the small guards are able to gamble for steals and play aggressively this season because they get help.

Drummond is unlikely to change but when we get people back he should see less of the ball. At the moment we don't have much in the way of offensive options.

Again, I feel compelled to point this out. You can complain about Andre all you want. But when he doesn’t play, the Cavs revert back to the same horrible, non-competitive team they were before Drummond arrived.

Drummond is the only player keeping the Cavs in most of these games, and last night’s game was proof of that.

And IMO, it helps all of the younger players to develop if the environment is competitive. IMO, guys like Sexton, Garland and Okoro are going to develop a lot faster, if they are playing in winnable games instead of getting blown out most nights. My point is, Drummond will help this team develop moving forward; the Cavs should resign Drummond.

It's true that as of right now, we're better with him than without him because we don't have anyone else due to injuries. But he's a classic "good guy on a bad team" player. The better the team around him, the more the other guys will be able to make good shots, good passes, etc., and the more of a negative impact Drummond's poor decisions will have.

He makes bad teams more competitive, and good teams less competitive. You don't pay $20+M to a guy like that.. He's like the big version of Dion Waiters.

The Cavs didn't have Sexton,Garland and Mr. Talc on the floor yet you're acting like Drummond would have made a the difference last night....lol
.
I didn't mentioned KPJ and Dellavedova.

I don't understand, how anyone think Drummond would have made a difference when the Jazz scored 72 points on threes last night....lol

He would have helped because doubling Gobert would not have been as necessary. We needed wing defense last night and didn't have enough. More importantly we needed 3 pt shooters.

Why when the Cavs are missing four starters, but Drummond plays, but the Cavs lose, it's all Drummond's fault? But whe

That remains to be seen. He’s never played for a good team. No one has any idea how he would play or what his usage numbers would be for a good team. It’s all idle speculation.

So when the Cavs lose a 10 point game with 4 starters out and Drummond on the floor, he gets blamed.

But when the Cavs get blown out with Drummond out, it means nothing, because everyone was hurt.

Got it.

Because even when he's on a team that happens to be playing well, he plays the exact same way. There isn't the slighest contravening evidence that he'd stop things like putting the ball on the floor and trying to penetrate just because his teammates are better.

It's who/what he is.

Maybe some blamed him for the loss the other night, but I didn't.

We're an extremely crappy team right now with all the guys out. Sure, we've picked up a couple of wins, but we really haven't played many good teams. Memphis is almost as bad as us with Ja and Jaren out, Milwaukee faced us without Giannis, Philly without Simmons. The two good teams we played (Indiana and Utah) throttled us. Atlanta was a quality win, but the next few weeks could be brutal if we don't get most (or all) of these guys back in the mix.

I don't believe Drummond makes yesterday's game even remotely competitive. Perhaps with a full-strength roster, we could have at least competed, but that's with the collective effort of multiple guys who aren't currently suiting up.

Actually, when the Cavs were playing well in their first 3 games, Drummond averaged 4 asts per game and 3.3 TOs per game.

In the 8 games since in which the Cavs have gone 2-6, Drummond has averaged 2.5 apg and 4.1 TOpg.

So there is some evidence that Drummond passes more and turns the ball over less when the team is playing well.

Go back and read this thread. The first 3 posts concerning Drummond and Tuesday’s game literally blamed Drummond for Tues 10 point loss, even though he was the only healthy starter.

Andre, does it upset you when we blame you?

Who cares? You’re currently debating people who did not make that assertion.
