Artest on the block

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

The reason for writing this is for such comments like yours here that were "up in the thread". Just trying to enlighten people that think that we can trade Z or hughes for Artest. It cant happen...

Yes we can, in a package deal. your not discovering anything new here

hughes and a couple others can include anything, it is a broad spectrum.

I think anything can certainly happen. But if a single one of you thinks Danny Ferry is crunching numbers on puting together combos that include Z, you're crazy. It's fun to imagine the possibilities, but IT AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN. Look no further than the quote by Reggie Miller who spent his entire career with Indiana and seems to know a little bit about their management team.

The playoff possible teams that would benefit most by adding artest are:

Ironically Detroit. (which will never happen)

Milwaukee (Which also won't happen because they are in the same division)

Philly
Minny
Hornets
Miami
Orlando
Dallas
Seattle
Clips
Denver

It boils down to what each has to trade for him. I can see a playoff marginal team taking him on to make the jump to really competitive. I just hope he goes west, not east.

i think he would do well in LA, with the lakers that is, im sure the lakers are ready to give up on Kwame, so im sure they would move him out if they could, but think about it, Phil loves defensive players so why not LA? maybe Denver would take him, move Andre Miller and the hurt Nene and im sure the Pacers would take that.

All I have to say is that I'm glad Artest is getting traded PERIOD. And if not the Cavaliers, I hope it's somewhere out West. I just don't want to watch LeBron vs Ron during the playoffs.

I don't like that tone of voice, young man. I reckon talk like that deserves a beatin'.

I'm not nervous... If you say February is when we will be turning a good corner ? Then i'm on board with that...

Of course, that is two friggin' months away... So much damage can be done between then and now.. :thumbdown

Win me 10 more games from now until the All-star break. 10 games of growing pains, tough losses, learning from mistakes. Come out strong, reborn, and new.

Then, after the all star break, go on a Denver Nugget-esque tear and garner the 48 wins that you should have, then everyone will be cheerful.

I just found two Ron Artest factoids

#1 A couple years ago, he applied for a job at Best Buy to get the employee discount...

#2 He does naked pushups in the locker room ;)

Just google it for more information (at your own risk)

Not sure if that is "Championship behavior" ?

He applied for a job at Circuit City. On the job application he wrote down "NBA player" as his last job and used Bulls president Jerry Krause's name as a reference. And he did it all just so he could get the employee discount on home electronics.

as much as i would love to see ron artest here, it won't happen. the pacer's ain't dumb enough to do that. at the same note, i don't see them dealing ron for peja neither. peja can't guard anyone in the league.

If the Cavs offer the Pacers the best deal that they've been offered, I think the Pacers would do it. They said they would take the best offer. If the Cavs make the best offer, then they will trade him to Cleveland.

Personally I believe we are no chance of getting Artest here no matter how much Artest may talk it up. The Pacers will force us to give up too much if they were to trade within their division. Indiana will take less back over sending him to a Central team, or even a fellow Eastern team.

Screamin' A Smith of Espn said the Heat could offer (and the Pacers would possibly be interested) in a deal including Posey and Doleac for him

If they are willing to consider Miami, I think they would consider Cleveland...

I don't think we will get him, but I know they have got to get something better then Posey and Doleac..
