Brandon Too GoodWIN Two Be True

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
You can do worse than this for a 3rd PG. A lot of worse.

He'll gain confidence and won't panic at the end of games as he gets time.

He can't shoot. Obviously. And he knows that, too.

But that's also why he's a 3rd PG bouncing around the G league. If he could shoot he wouldn't be here now because he does a lot of other things well.

I think this season, the fans were spoiled with excellent guards that people are raining on goodwin.

I mean 1-5 shooting and 3 assists to 2 turnovers (including a game sealing one) is objectively terrible. He wasn't good defensively against Ja either. I like Goodwin's attitude and passion, but he's too bad of a shooter at just 6 ft tall to be anywhere near a rotation.

I like Goodwin over Pangos, but I am not understanding why we are not giving Numbnuts some minutes.. He has been a consistent scorer in g league..

Guy plays hard, but can't stay in front of anyone. On that pass he clearly panicked. Morant was all over garland.

I think they view Nembhard as more of a combo guard. Also he has very little experience at the pro level, as he is an undrafted rookie. Scoring in the G-League might be easier than scoring in college basketball at the D1 level, so its not really a good indicator. I would like to see the kid, but he obviously needs more developing or he would be getting minutes.

Remember Lamar Stevens and Dean Wade are success stories for undrafted players and they are in their 3rd or 4th year and very limited still. Very few Fred Van Fleets, Ben Wallace or Brad Millers exist that go undrafted and have good NBA careers. Maybe Nembhard will, but he needs more time to develop.

As old as Lamar is, this is his second season in the NBA and he has only played 64 games total. The main thing is that his physical tools are much more developed, and he is comfortable banging around in the paint. Just did not learn many NBA level skills at Penn State.

But you are right about Nembhard.

I was just thinking that if you are giving Goodwin run, why not test the Nembhard water a few minutes. We have seen the damage Pangos does.

I’m sorry but whenever I see his name I read “Numbhard” and that ruins him for me.

I would love to see what Nembhard is capable of, but JBB practices with these kids and if a newly signed Goodwin is getting minutes over Nembhard and Pangos is getting minutes over him and we see how awful Pangos is, what does that say about Nembhard.

We tend to assume these coaches are idiots, but any NBA coach knows 10 times more about basketball. I just have to believe Nembhard is not ready for NBA minutes yet. He went undrafted for a reason, and he was more combo guard and didnt play his first 2 years in college that much. I just dont think Nembhard is a savior at all.

I don't think pangos played at all. I am not clear on how the two way contracts work.. is he limited to a number of games he actually plays in, or do those he sits on the bench also count..
