4 national games is enough for me to go bananas about, thats for sure.

I actually dont like being the national game. I like going under the radar, enjoying my Sunday afternoon Browns football and then kicking Pittsburg in the balls in the playoffs for the whole world to see. It was possibly a top 10 day in my life, lol (wedding, kids, bar mitzvah, divorce, 2016 championship, first blow job received )...its up there for sure, lol

I know someone connected to the Browns. I’ve dropped a few nuggets here in the past. Only when I hear it from this one person.

Having said that, I suppose he could respond to treatment and play in the fall, but I heard he is likely done.
If true it only increases the odds they sign one of Sherman, Nelson, Conley, or Poole

In fairness, they also signed Anthony Walker, who is very much a more traditional thumper. So I don't think they're moving away from having that "Mike" position as much as they ensuring mobility elsewhere among LB's.

In nickel, I still think they're run with one thumper -- a Walker/Takitaki type, and one JOK/Wilson/Fields type. Be interesting to see when they run dime if they are willing to go with 4 DL, and then 7 guys all around 220 or less.

It will be interesting, right now Greedy is probably our 4th best corner, so we have 4 starter level corners. We have 3 safieties worth starting, and that doesnt count Lecounte who might be good enough to start some day (probably drafted to replace Harrison some day)

We then have the 2 smaller linebackers we drafted. Both have safety level speed ,especially JOK.

Assuming Wilson is cut, and Fields isnt ready for much more than special teams, we have 8 guys who can play in the secondary in a dime package at a high level. We also added speed to our defensive line too, the tackles we have might not be better than what we had last year, but they will be quicker. On top of that we added speed to our edge rushers too.

Our defense became a ton faster. We should see our defense flying all over the field. it will be exciting. And we are going to cut NFL level talent on defense instead of having to bring in CFL level talent to fill holes. I cant wait.

The Browns have 4 PrimeTime games. The game in Green Bay is on Christmas day and the only game being played on that time slot. Not to mention they can get flexed into a Saturday game with the Raiders game, which I'm sure will be a big one if the Raiders find themselves in WC contention again this year.

This is semantics and ultimately I agree with you, but technically the Browns do only have 3.

Primetime television in the U.S. by definition is 8pm-11pm ET (7-10pm CT).

The Christmas Game is a national TV game running unopposed, but not technically a primetime game since the kickoff is at 4:30pm.

As a Jew who doesnt ever get his kids on Christmas because my ex's family celebrates it (my ex wife converted), I dont think any of you except the few fellow MOT's on here can understand how amazing have a Browns game on Christmas is going to be.

My wife and I usually go to her family's and then mine. Last year we stayed home because of COVID.

Now we have a newborn (who will be 9 months on Christmas). I'm just trying to think of a reason to stay home to watch the game (looks like it airs at 4:30). We usually leave her family's place at 1-2'ish... maybe I can convince her that our stay at my family's should be short so that we can "be at home and create our own tradition with our son". Then watch the game.

Or I can just be upfront and tell her I want to watch the game. She might not care as much since it wouldn't interfere with her family's visit.

Am I terrible for caring more about that game than Christmas family BS?

I assumed Walker is in place as an upgrade from BJ Goodson, who was a two down run stopper in his career and given a chance to play passing situations. He will continue to be the Mike, but he may not have the same passing down responsibilities as Goodson. Look no further than the Chiefs game to find a good coach targeting our middle linebacker in key third downs.

I believe this experiment with TakiTaki as Sam linebacker is also headed for a conclusion. Yes, I know he had two pick-6 plays last season, but I really hate his reaction time in coverage.

Probably yes, but throw that game on any holiday, Jewish or not, and I care more about the game too, so I am just as terrible.

Maybe my son's upcoming Bar Mitzvah I care more about, but those are always on Saturdays because Jews own too many football teams.

I am not as upset as some about the Lamar Jackson is a rb joke, but it is dumb and here is why.

Lamar has started 37 games and thrown for about 7,000 yards in those games.

That means 191 yards a game. No its not a modern offense, but he does throw the ball. He happens to run a 4.3 40 and that is a weapon. A weapon that has happened to kicking the Browns defense's ass for 3 years, but hopefully our new defense is able to stop him finally.

Its just silly, its like saying Kamara is a receiver because he caught 85 balls for 783 yards. Kamara is a weapon that can catch the ball out of the backfield but is still a rb.
Counter

Lamar Jackson has almost 3k rushing yards since joining the league giving him the 7th most rushing yards over that time.

At 7000 passing yards he is ranked 25th in total passing yards since 2018. Sam darnold has 1000 more career passing yards than Lamar Jackson and obviously drafted the same year

Running back.

If anyone knows someone, I’d love to get a pair for the week 3 game vs the Bears.
Not upper deck, wife hates upper deck. Club is the highest she will go.

I don't give a shit what he is, I just want our defense to frustrate the hell out of him and cover Mark Andrews.

I think JOK is going to thrive in Ravens matchups. As a former DB and receiver, he can take a tight end out of a game. Obviously we also know he closes fast when the quarterback passes the line of scrimmage, cutting down chunk yards on the ground.

If I'm being honest, I just generally prefer watching football from a bar or at home. I feel like every time I've been to an NFL game it's either been miserably hot (Panthers games) or miserably cold (Browns games).
I am with this 100%, maybe a bar more than at home. The pomp and circumstance of hanging out in Cleveland the night before a game and going to tailgate or to a bar the next morning before attending a game still has its charm and I do it annually, but give me a bar the other 15, er I guess now 16, weeks.
